    Anw, here are the 10 lastest #1 songs from 3rd gen groups.

    2025SEVENTEENTHUNDER
    2024SEVENTEENLOVE, MONEY, FAME (feat. DJ Khaled)
    2024DAY6HAPPY
    2024DAY6Melt Down
    2024NCT 127Creak (Walk)
    2024SEVENTEENMAESTRO
    2023NCT 127Be There For Me
    2023EXOfirst snow
    2023SEVENTEENGod of Music
    2023NCT 127Ay-Yo

    All of them are boygroups. Seems like 3rd gen girl groups are having it hard on kcharts recent years.

  • Idk what is the situation on korean charts atm and how they work or who is releasing soon amongst "3rd generation" groups but I hope BTS will get #1 with their upcoming comeback. Blackpink might get #1 before them so that might be the answer to your question.

    But this is an interesting observation. You can understand why girl groups don't go much beyond 7 years. Even though recently girl groups are releasing more music after that 7 year mark compared to prior generations, its just visible that Koreans don't care about girl groups after some time. They move on to newer younger girl groups so it is actually better for girl group member to pursue individual activities to establish themselves in the entertainment industry.

    Yes, Blackpink has 3 or 4 weeks to top the chart before BTS sweep it.

  • Are you talking TOP100 or Real-Time Chart on Melon? Because you only show Circle Chart but that's a different story.

    OMG only topped the Real-Time Chart in 2021, just like Blackpink with "Shut Down" in 2022. Red Velvet's "Chill Kill" in 2023 also peaked #1 on Real-Time.

    So, technically Red Velvet was the last girl group.

    I think it's fair to say that BP won't top Melon with "GO." The only group who can do it is probably BTS.

  • Obviously Circle Weekly, Korea's official chart.

    For comparison Circle (with a bit of Youtube Music) is the best chart.

    Real-Time positions are volatile, it's not suitable for serious comparison. And since it being updated hourly, technically there can be 8760 #1s per year, not a very good flex.

  • Jump was probably the biggest idol group song released last year so reaching #1 not really the most important thing for a song

    But Blackpink seems to the be exception for girlgroups being able to release a big hit 9 years into their careers.

    I dont think any other girlgroup managed to release a big hit after 6/7 years into their career not even the 2nd gen girlgroups. General Public in korea seems to drop them really fast

    - Wonder Girls (2007) - Why So Lonely (2016) -> 9 years,

    - f(x) (2009) - 4 Walls (2015) -> 6 years,

    - Sistar (2010) - Lonely (2017) -> 7 years,

    - ...

  • - W‍onder Girls (2007) - W‍hy So L‍onely (2016) -> 9 years,

    A case could also be made for B‍rave Girls. They debuted in April 2011, while "Rollin'" went viral in February 2021.

    I mean you have a point, but there aren't many groups or soloists with #1 songs, let alone 8760. 🤣

    I think a lot of popular groups last year and this year as well didn't reach #1. Some people might say, because Melon is not that popular anymore Koreans use Youtube Music now, but you can't find many popular groups achieving #1 there either.

    So yeah, the Circle Chart is probably the best way to determine success.
