    Sometimes I wonder if older-generation songs, during their rookie years would be as widely accepted today as they were back then, or if the dynamics would be different. And if their concepts, strategies, and the way their company promoted them would still achieve the same results, or if it wouldn’t work anymore. And since all 3 of them coming from the big 3, they kinda have similar advantages that make the comparison much fair.


    So, which group do you think would end up as the most popular, and which one would probably be disliked or simply will less hype by kpop standards today?

    I feel like bubbly, sweet songs still have a cheat code when it comes to chart rankings. SNSD’s cute era always gave me slight snoozefest vibes while Twice actually makes that concept feel solid and timeless. And honestly, if Blackpink were debuting today… I’m not sure they’d survive the battlefield.

    I think it's pretty much impossible to be able to answer this question

    Considering that they all thrive at a moment where it was different and they all have reasons to still be successfull right now


    SNSD would be successfull cuz they have this less polish, more easy going natural personality that 2nd gen idols usually have and that a lot of people complain idols no longer have now

    So i think having a groups who's more "natural" in personality would be a big advantage that other groups don't have and would give them a big success in 5th gen


    Twice would be able to still thrive cuz they are fking hard working, these girls have been in the industry in 10 years and they are touring the world, and releasing music regularly, and constantly pouring content on their social media

    Tbh they are the most hard working kpop group ever and i think this side of them would be able to give them a lot of popularity even in 5th gen

    Cuz i think the public would still love even in 5th gen a group that is constantly feeding them


    As for Blackpink i think musically and aesthetic wise, they feel more modern whereas Twice and Snsd debut have more this old school vibe

    So i think they would feel more on brand with this generation and would help them to still have a big success in 5th gen

    SNSD for a lot of reasons, they have everything to be popular in this generation if they debuted now, they are all talented able to live perform which is something a lot of girl groups get criticized for and live performance well


    They have the personality to stand out which is one of the reasons they were popular in 2nd gen, while many girl group members from other groups seemed more careful with what they said SNSD always said things that could be controversial even other girl group members were shown to be shocked


    And lastly, a lot of people say NewJeans became popular because their songs are so good and they are talented but if you want my honest opinion while i agree their songs are very good, i feel the reason why NewJeans became as popular as they did is because of how much fun they seem to be having in their music videos and performances always joking around and smiling and having a great time when we were used to girl groups like aespa that had more serious robotic expression and i feel SNSD are like that too


    I feel Twice and BlackPink kind of lack a couple things compared to SNSD being talent or personality
