I do not really put too much relevance to BTS' events in Seoul, which is a huge favor to Korea, a country which chose the Former Owner of Edam Entertainment instead of them.
I have to think about dynamite again.
This song started the Kpop boom, which lasted for 2 years , destroyed by a bunch of reasons. I do not think this comeback of BTS will fare any better than the comeback of Napoleon in 1815.
As everyone knows, the lockdowns began in 2020, and concerts everywhere were stopped.
At that time Edam Entertainment was owned by a Lee Jieun, who had gained a lot of ground exploiting the lull created after the ferry incident in 2014 which made her compete against EXO , and eventually awarded her the Lifetime Achievement Award , making her the Senior Singer.
Her objective of ending KPop never modified, she chose to iexploit the lockdown period with a sleepy song, aimed for advancing her agenda in Korea.
Min Yoongi foolishly allowed to collaborate with the Owner of Edam Entertainment.
In retrospect, it would have been better for RM to do so, giving the Owner of Edam Entertainment a song nobody could understand, making the song buried and removing a potential threat from the ground.
Instead, the product of this collaboration , Eight, became a major hit in Korea, although just like every single other song sung by the Owner of Edam Entertainment , it did not chart in the Billboard Hot 100.
Without Dynamite, Eight would have been the top song of Korea in 2020, and the Owner of Edam Entertainment would have re-taken the initiative of KPop, significantly tilting it towards introspective songs which would not have interested foreign fans.
Suga, whose stupid lyrics would be later used by an ultrareactionary congressman to drag all of them to the military and lose the chance to dominate the world forever , had put BTS into a grave danger in 2020. I think bang should have cut Suga back then.
No need to tell what happened after Dynamite which made BTS the top act of the world. However, without it, the Owner of Edam Entertainment, instead of BTS, would be dominating Kpop even now, a prospect which dreads me even now.
