HYBE's incapability to properly develop and manage their GG's talent is frustrating.

  • fromis_9 had really well-rounded vocalists and wtf happened? "Erm, we'll actually leave you in the dungeon for damn near a year and then let you release some mid-ass, rushed-ass disbandment song"

GFriend literally has the baddie SinB and vocal queen Yuju but decided to disband the group to make another. Mind you, I know HYBE has the money and investors seeing as they are literally debuting like more fucking groups this year one.

They really have Lara who is probably one of 4th gens best vocalists singing "oh my god this song is so lit, congratulations. gang gang" like jesus christ :clown:

Yunjin could be yet ANOTHER 4th vocal queen from HYBE but nooo, let's have her sing songs that are in a register she does not shine in and WHILE having her doing fucking somersaults.

I'm missing out on so much and I hate it. Chaewon could be a better recognized all-rounder, my girls Zuha and Eunchae could be twin dancing machines as Kazuha serves angelic vocals and Sakura could be a MUCH better rapper and dancer than she currently is.

And don't even get me started on ILLIT. These girls showed soo much potential on the show..and they still do. They had the attitude and the drive and now can barely sing any of their songs without sounding like they have stage fright.

Despite what every one says, HYBE genuinely DOES have very talented GGs but for some fucked up reason, it all ends up falling apart before its even gotten started.

  • I also watched a video where the person was analyzing KATSEYE and they brought up this clip while saying how incredibly frustrating it is that to witness even the slightest bit of Lara's vocal potential is through backstage vids, Weverse lives, etc. Basically just through unofficial means and I think this applies to all their GGs. Some of best of Yunjin's vocals I've seen and heard under HYBE were when she cover's songs on her Weverse lives. Same with Kazuha...

  • I guess Hybe probably expanded too quickly without putting strong foundations in place.

Reactionary decision making vs putting in robust systems and frameworks focus on long term quality and success.

Maybe they need a strong operations team that has oversight over quality management for all their labels, or a centre of excellence, whatever they want to call it.

They may get there one day. Realistically they are still in the infancy of being a big company.

  • They clearly do not believe vocals are important. If their GGs are selling by hype alone then that's all they care about.

Honestly, most companies believe the same but they at least try to nurture some of the natural talent before debut. Afterwards it seems no one even tries to keep training their idols and so many regress.

  • i said it countless times, hybe has no respect for their female artists. they just see them as 'experiments'. they said it themselves btw. and they also believe the more talented they are or they appear, the less attractrive they will be  ...

    hybe are hopeless.

and bango probably doesn't want to surround himselv with overly intelligent or talented people because that makes him feel 'small' :clown: . they're here to boost his ego, not the other way arround.

the ego of a failed artist and failed star.

  • HYBE tries way too hard to appeal to a Western audience that it ends up backfiring. I know other companies also do this, but HYBE does it the most and they do it wrong.

Bang Si-hyuk himself said he wanted to remove the 'K' from 'K-pop.'

It works for groups with members who are naturally more Western or genuinely interested in a Western style. Examples: BLACKPINK and aespa

None of the LE SSERAFIM members except Yunjin are interested in that.

HYBE probably had no idea what to do with groups like GFRIEND and fromis(9) because the members were never trained to appeal to the Western gaze, so they gave up trying to media-train them the way they do with LE SSERAFIM and KATSEYE.

ILLIT is an exception to this (for now).

  • you are saying girl groups as if they are not actively sabotaging every boy group under them.

I have never met a single MOA who likes hybe, engenes hate them because instead of promoting enhyphen in korea properly hybe keep on grinding them on tours, carats would rather burn that company.

Solo armys hate it because they literally wasted the potential their solos could have, they do have shooters on ot7 armys but wait a month, the way they are handling comeback promotion up until now, I dont see a single good sign😒. Karmys will soon be sending trucks at this point.

Problem with hybe is that it has more business minded executives who never had a single experince with artists. They see everything with business glasses which in turn produce mess like this.

Seriously they need to appoint the same people who were managing bighit in 2018/ 19/20, obsession with profit was there but still you could see the respect for art too. Now there is no profit nor art

  • This. I miss when there was a clear, solid vision for TXT's concept.

This, their creativity is becoming less and less as time passes. Up until mots7 bts had top ties creative teams. I liked bts solos immensely creativity wise (each member decided the concept so hybe did not have a part in it) but not the way hybe handled the promotions.

Now I am afraid of group album tbh. Dont know what hybe will do😒. Up until now graphics are less than okay but JK made this so we ignore🤐😒. Bighit gave us white boxes and utterly useless valentine rose project for album promotion so..... :boredr:

They will be duffers to fk up this insanely hyped comeback but I dont have much hope from this company. Only hope I have that memvers have huge hands in this album production

  • What I’ve noticed about Hybe is that they love to use the “the idols designed it or chose it themselves” card so the incompetence doesn’t fall on them, and the fandom just shut their mouth and eats it up.

  • During my years in kpop you always have fans that make similar statements about their groups and their company. They are not happy about the promotions or handling of their favorite group. JYP, YGE etc. now and then always get the same criticism from fans. It's like a clock.

You've read my mind. I was thinking of how memorable, elegant, and cohesive the promotions were for The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, You Never Walk Alone, and Love Yourself. There was a story and a clear theme being presented in the teasers, trailers, and other visual media that promoted those albums.

It didn't feel the same after that even if the music itself was still great. The promos were sadly forgettable, so I don't even remember what they were like.

At this point, for the comeback, I'm just banking on the music.

  • I think frustration comes from how much potential some of these groups clearly have, but it’s important to distinguish management style from intentional “mishandling.”

HYBE has had some successes and failures — they’ve helped some acts break into global markets, but that doesn’t mean every strategy works universally. Different groups have different needs, goals, and fan expectations. Poor communication or inconsistent promotion can easily be perceived as neglect, but it might also come down to mismatched concepts or internal decision-making processes that simply didn’t align with the talent’s strengths.

At the end of the day, fans care because they genuinely want these artists to thrive. A more balanced view that highlights both what worked and what didn’t can help us talk about growth rather than just frustration.

  • I would like to add to this some of my own thoughts. I overall have a big problem that when KPOP Idols are recording songs, they basically record their own part, which sometimes lasts 2-3 seconds and that's it. During that recording producers or vocal teachers are giving them instructions how to sing etc. so at the end of the day that very short part is recorded super perfectly in studio. Meanwhile back in the day singers, even groups were singing whole song during recording. Sometimes they were doing it once, sometimes multiple times. This basically makes u used to singing. Another point is to look at what other groups were doing and how they're trained.

I remember from one of old videos that for example STAYC were either singing songs while running laps around dance class, or they were doing some weird position like plank and then singing their parts. I think everyone sees my point here. It's way different to stand in studio steady and sing perfectly 2-3 second part, than to run around and dance for 3 minutes, and sing whole that time.

I sometimes think that KPOP artists are overworked in bad way, only in dancing and traveling. And then if there ain't much vocal training in 'performance' type scenario, then why not let one or two members put that whole dancing aside, like it was in 1st and 2nd gen, do a step to side and then let vocalists shine in standing position without dancing.
