The reason Lee Jieun is only comparable to BTS in Korea is a bit more complex than most people know

  • The Korean stations had aired the concerts of Sung Sikyung, from the events he had near the end of last year , and also IU, from Sep 2024.

Although most people who have read my writings are aware that I have written more about Lee Jieun than everyone else combined , there is a reason KPop's Greatest Anachronism is only comparable to BTS , or even overcoming it

    in Korea.

I have compared her to Abd al Rahman, the last survivor of Ommyyad dynasty who carved a kingdom in Spain only with his own hands, or Nguyen Anh(pronounced Ayn) , the last survivor or the Nguyen clan which ruled what was South Vietnam (their realm covered roughly the same area as the domain covered by South Vietnam before 1975), who overthrew the peasant rebel regime of Tay Son , slaughtered every single one of the Tay Son followers and induced even harsher control over the peasants, which continued all the way till 1975 (the dynasty itself was ended by France in 1886 but the institutions remained since the French preferred not to interfere with local affairs).

Few people in history fought the new order with such ferocity , antagonism and hostility. Lim Youngwoong gave up fighting KPop after music bank snubbed him against Le Sserafim

(since then LYW no longer fights against KPop although he does what he can to weaken it)

But the 1,353 years old, having snubbed quite often, still did not give up her goal of destroying KPop and making the world go back to the days when nobody had heard about it, despite of repeated snubbing.

And KPop's Greatest Anachronism, with the support of general Korean public, continued this seemingly futile fight with something resembling a religious mission.

She fought KPop against almost zero allies, yet from around 2011 she was a household name.

In 2012, when her most famous photo was revealed by herself everyone called it IU and Eunhyuk. Not one person said it the other way , even ELFs.

Only after BTS got so famous around the world that it was able to overcome the Owner of Edam Entertainment (at that time).

The gallup poll of last year showed that although IU's songs didn't do too great and BP had a bigger impact, by name value alone more people in Korea supported IU than BP.

Her reputation has been gained by 15 years of relentless, unswerving fight against KPop, something few idols will find it easy to compare.
