It's probably quite common since they run into each other constantly. I assume it's a small world and you always hear stories about idols meeting each other at salons, hairdressers and other places. Plus, we have to remember there's a lot of overlap in training because many are trainees at popular companies but might not make it. I assume they keep in touch because of bond they built through training

I think what might happen is companies might control which friends they can show. I assume a big 4 company might not want an idol to be shown with an idol in a nugu company. We've mentioned in another thread, but I'm kind of shocked that SM allowed Winter to show she has a close friendship with Keena. It was during the height of her group's drama, and was shocked they took a risk there because fans on social media were unhappy about that.

Anyway, there's probably many friendships that isn't shown on camera. it's most likely common in their entertainment industry since there's a lot of overlap in places they run into others.
