Twice's Dahyun fractured her ankle, will miss (at least) second US leg of tour

  • Needless to say, JYP are complete morons for letting this happen. This should have been properly diagnosed a whole month ago when it first happened.

  • so they've neglected her injury for so many concerts, but why?

couldn't they just visit hospital or just some clinic in US right away and sent her back home?

cmon TWICE is making you tons of money, so JYP use it to take care of your girls!

They could have, but that would be too easy and logical apparently. Instead let's allow her to travel and walk around on a fractured ankle for a month, because surely it's just a sprain and we totally don't need to confirm those suspicions. Some acupuncture should do the trick. :watt:

  • It's not surprising that it took so long for Dahyun's Ankle Fracture to be realized because Dahyun and STRIDE (JYPE Division 3) probably thought it was an Ankle Injury which is a common injure for Dancers.

If she had 1 of the 3 Ankle bones fractured then it's possible that the mistake would have been made.

Dahyun was receiving treatment, probably for an Ankle Injury, was seated during TWICE Concerts so there isn't a problem of her continuing on the Tour as long as she was willing. Which is a no brainer, she's a TWICE member that had been injured and missed out on TWICE activities (2016/2017 from memory), so she'll want to drag her ass on stage, even if she's seated (which later she was.)

So while the diagnosis turned out serious, it wasn't as if she was forced to appear on Stage as TWICE does have instances of members that have been absent due to an "illness" even on the day or afternoon of an appearance.

  • Common sense dictates that she should have been professionally diagnosed when it happened, instead of the team presumably assuming "yeah I'm sure it's fine, just sit for a bit.", no?

Common sense dictates they should follow what the majority of Dancers and Managers do and treat the injury initially as an Ankle Sprain which arguably all of the TWICE members have had.

How many of them have had to sit for multiple dates during the tour?

It's normal to do that without seeing a doctor?

    Seems stupid.

The fact that her injury turned out to be much more severe than a sprain dictates that there's nothing sensible about this course of action. It should have received proper medical attention and been diagnosed immediately, not a month later, she should have been wearing a splint or boot, and she shouldn't have been allowed to walk on it or spend entire concerts (and probably most of her day in general) with her leg hanging down instead of keeping it elevated to prevent swelling. These are all ACTUAL common sense ways to treat a fracture of the leg, not the blatant disregard that transpired over the course of the past month.

Your comments are "after she was diagnosed" because Medical Care was undertaken in America. I suspect for an "Ankle Sprain" so precautions were in place however it seems that pain persisted so she was seated during a Concert.

Anyway, steps were taken for Dahyun.... well at least for a suspect sprain...

But here is where the problem is.....

Who's responsibility is it to deal with the Injury?

As an example, if Taylor Swift was injured, will Republic Records be responsible or would the parent company UMG be?

It's Taylor Swift.... just as it is Dahyun's responsibility.

If we look at STRIDE's record, they have cancelled a Concert due to unsafe conditions of the Stage, members have been "rested" so don't appear at schedules and they have allowed members to appear at Concerts or Events while being seated.

So I am thinking that steps were taken to discuss with Dahyun about whether she wanted a more thorough examination which inevitably would have sent her back to SK.

Dahyun probably didn't want that option which might answer the reason why she waited until they returned.

You're talking in circles. Do you know why they were treating it as if it were merely a sprain? Not for giggles, but because her fracture was never diagnosed until she got back to Korea, therefore she wasn't actually receiving proper medical care while in America.

Pretty sure Taylor Swift speaks English and can communicate with American doctors.

It's JYPE's responsibility to prioritize her health and do whatever is necessary to get her proper medical treatment while on tour. That means getting examined first and foremost. If she refused for whatever reason, she should have been informed by those wiser than herself of why this was such a bad idea, and then she shouldn't have been allowed back on stage until an X-ray was done at the very least. JYPE can't overstep their personal boundaries with regards to medical issues, but as her employer, they had the right to shut her down and prevent her from working until she seeked proper medical attention. They evidently didn't care enough to do so.

For this tour it seems some had to miss days due to sickness, but Dahyun had a legitimate injury and it appears Jihyo too. Jihyo had to be seated for multiple dates.

It seems that you know the reason BUT it's IMPOSSIBLE for them to think it was a fracture.

    That's a moronic answer.

    No it's not.

Why would it ever be "impossible" for them to think it's a fracture? It's 2026. Did you know hospitals have these neat things they can use to look inside your body and detect fractures within minutes? Maybe, just MAYBE if she had gotten one of those done in a timely manner, this all could have been handled properly instead of what actually happened? YA THINK?

    That's a moronic answer.

It's thee answer to your question. You know what they say, ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.

    No it's not.

    You're wrong. Again.
