On the morning of July 2nd last year, A, a woman in her 20s, was on her way to work and was quickening her steps. As she was walking out onto the street to catch the bus, a kickboard suddenly came rushing towards her and hit her. At that time, the victim was struck by an electric scooter that protruded from behind a wall and fell. A, who was taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest, was diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage and a skull fracture. Fortunately, she survived the critical condition, but had to resign from work due to the aftereffects of the traumatic brain injury.

On the 23rd, about six months later, the family received the devastating news that the case had been dismissed.

The victim says it's difficult to accept that the decision was made without even a single investigation.

The family cannot accept a decision that prioritizes the perpetrator's future over the victim's human rights, and is considering filing a civil lawsuit alongside the appeal process.

    Summary

    1. A woman in her 20s suffered a serious brain hemorrhage and lost her job after being hit and run by a 17-year-old unlicensed scooter driver.

    2. The prosecution suspended the indictment without even questioning the victim, citing the perpetrator's youth and lack of legal knowledge.

    3. The victim's family, unable to even reach a settlement, is furious at the decision, which focuses solely on the perpetrator's future.

    original post: here

    1. Those f*ckers and their kickboards

    2. 17 y'os will become adults in no time, charge them like an adult

    3. Can we start protecting the victim's rights?

    4. Do people in their 20s not have a future too? This is f*cking annoying

    5. For criminals who are minors, the parents should be taking the entire responsibility for their kids

    6. "The perpetrator's future"... F*ck what about the future of the victim who has to live with the secondary effects of this???

    7. Stop bullsh*tting me

    8. So they're thinking about the perpetrator's future, but not the victim's future? Why is this so f*cked up?

    9. F*ck stop thinking about perpetrators

    10. Are they insane??? He f*cked over someone else's life

  • I'm pissed whenever I see such things

the defense line of "judge decision prioritizes perpetrators future"

but what the fvck about the victims future?

so what if perpetrator is just 17 years old, should be treated as adult!!!

here in Poland we are adults when we are 18, and sometimes even 16 year olds are treated as adults in criminal cases

  • Was this the same device that a certain idol used while drunk but fans downplay it saying it's not dangerous enough

You can say his name, everyone knows that it's suga lol

I don't know, i don't manage any vehicle including bicycle. But. Countries need to regulate better, who is allowed to drive and what are the requirements for managing a certain vehicle. Are minors even allowed to drive it? I have no idea. It's strange that the case was dismissed, there must be details that were omitted in the article

I find it ridiculous that minors can get away with so many crimes

Like if that's the case just hire minors to do crimes for you

Oh wait it probably is already happening

Is that their conclusion or official explanation?

In Serbia you'll be treated and sentenced as an adult at 18 yo, no exceptions.

We had a dreadful case of school mass shooting that's never happened in my country before, literally never. It was 2,5 years ago and lunatic killed 10 people (nine students and one security guard). He was 14 at the time and couldn't go on trial. He was placed in mental institution. How long will he be there? Who knows. Our law didn't count on sometimes like this happening.

This went dark really fast, jeez

Anyways. Here you can drive a car at 18. No idea about e-scooters, I'll google. I know a situation where a cyclist hurt a woman and the incident didn't happen in the line for bicycles. Every vehicle can be dangerous, it's the people who act questionable
