  • I'd love it if KOMCA releases the TOP25 artists every year so we can see who's on the list, because I still can't understand how the most credited girl group and female Idol in history still can't be a full member after 12 years. Not to mention LE.

30M won per year is not that much, it's only $20K and this is basically the hardest criteria.

It's crazy KOMCA only has 4 women on their list. I feel like thanks to AI we're gonna lose more and more producers and writers, especailly female artists. KOMCA needs to step up their game and give flowers to more female artists, literally.

  • Minnie next! She also help produced a lot of Idle's music.

Yuqi got it mostly because she already sold more than a million albums as a soloist. Yuqi has a massive Chinese fanbase but Minnie doesn't have that in Thailand. Like, Yuqi sold basically the same amount of albums in 2 years as MAMAMOO in 12. Minnie's album I think is around 250K or so. I think even if she can get it she needs more than 2-3 years.

They have a similar amount of credits, but most of those are shared with Soyeon on multiple i-dle songs so their income is not that big from group songs.

    Yuqi: 28

    Minnie: 23

  • Minnie is popular in Thailand, but I don't think people in Thailand are buying albums like people do in China. Even Lisa is not getting a ton of sales from that region. I agree that Yuqi is massive in China and probably the most popular kpop idol in one of the most lucrative markets.

Also Minnie had a very strong debut with all things considered. Being in the top 5 in a competitive year is an impressive feat.

I agree she will most likely need another solo or 2 to get promoted.

  • Yes, it looks like Thai people don't really buy that many albums even if it's one of the most mainstream Idol like Lisa.

To be honest, I would never take the Chinese market seriously after all the shit I've seen there. I mean, Kpop wise. I don't even want to mention the acting industry and other things. Most people know Chinese "fans" mass buying albums and then throwing them away like trash. I don't consider that a real achievement, but that's just me.

Minnie's debut was really good because at least 90% of the soloists can't even sell 100K in a month let alone 250K.
