JYP is the only big 4 company without a 5th gen girl group

As someone who’s been watching the current climate of kpop, and especially 5th gen ggs, I’ve come to realize that when out of the Big 4, jyp still has not debuted a new girl group.

Yg has Babymonster, Hybe has Illit, Sm has Hearts2Hearts but Jyp still has not debuted their next generation kpop girl group.

Part of me is wondering why that is, especially considering their last korean gg Nmixx debuted 4 years ago.

Does anyone think we’ll eventually get a new girl group this year or is Jyp forsaking 5th gen altogether?

Also if Jyp does debut a new gg, what sound, style, and concept do you think the company will go for?

As Monalisa mentioned YG didn’t debut a 4th gen gg and that was probably the best thing to keep the focus on BP

yg takes close to a decade to debut new ggs so they’re kind of an outlier. plus they debuted bp at the tail end of 3rd gen and gave them 1 song a year so it made sense.

with jyp on the other hand, nmixx has had a plethora of comebacks and music so tbh id expect a new gg soon.

my take is that they have new girl group ready to go but maybe decided to postpone their debut about half of year after NMIXX's sudden success with Blue Valentine

Considering trainees were spotted at nmixx’s concert back in november, i definitely think a new gg might come during the second half of the year.

They debuted Itzy in 2019, Niziu in 2020, Nmixx in 2022, Vcha/Girlset in 2023. I think it might behoove them to take little break from debut frenzy.

I’m speaking of their korean ggs. I don’t count niziu and girlset since they’re not kpop groups.

If we’re talking kpop girl groups, jyp hasn’t debuted one in 4 years.

Well yes, they’re being left in the dust by their competitors and if they wait until 6th gen to debut a new gg they’ll have an itzy situation all over again.
