Something I have dreamed about for a long time, especially after they name dropped Molly Yam in a music video and Doeun started to sing and talk about Effie in her live streams…

    It’s finally here!

    :meme-jerry-crying::meme-jerry-crying::meme-jerry-crying:

Does this mean there is a god after all, and he’s looking out for Bottles? :pepe-pray:

  • Teaser has Bottles feeling like:

  • you had me at hyperpop :red-heart:

Maybe I will give this a chance. I couldn't fully get into their earlier conent

They’re a bit of a love’em or hate’em group, so I get why a lot of people don’t like them all that much, but they always try something new for every comeback and this time it seems the stars have aligned.

  • What is this hyperpop??

    Must be a Gen Z(?) terminology. ^^

    [ Did research ]

    Yup! It is!

    Hyperpop primer for you:

    - Hyperpop is a relatively new genre, coined by Spotify and in many ways shaped by the official Spotify Hyperpop playlist.

    - It's a clash of sounds, from bubblegum pop to EDM to Trap. 2 foundational songs would be Charlie XCX 360, and 100Gecs Money Machine, showcasing either side of the spectrum.

    - It's been making waves in the Korean underground hip-hop scene (alongside associated genres Digicore and Pluggnb). Here are 3 amazing Korean hyperpop hip-hop artists:

    Effie

Changed the title of the thread from “Omg we’re getting Hyperpop Young Posse” to “Young Posse - Visa”.
  • The song dropped, it’s an absolute banger 🔥 my fav Young Posse song ever

  • Finally listened to it after seeing that challenge in the other thread

I like the song and it feels like something new to see from the idol scene. It also seems they've improved as rappers.

I got lazy and instead of making a new thread I just changed the title of this one so it slipped under the radar a little

I love it. Although hearing the full song it’s more a rage hiphop song than a true hyperpop song (but rage and hyperpop have lots of crossover nowadays).

They’re really bringing the sound of the underground though. The beat reminds me of this System Seoul song, which is crazy to say

  • The last time I listened to a YPS song it was COLD, but this one is just loud noise for me. I don't get how people can like this but anyway...😂

At least no one can say YPS is only copying oldschool Hip Hop, now they can say they're copying hyperpop or whatever is this.🤣

Since the start, I would say Young Posse have been time travelling around the whole history of hip-hop, making great songs inspired by different eras, (Scars was pure Trippie Red rage, their last comeback Freestyle was classic Beastie Boys in sound).

If you prefer more old school sounds, the b-side Pilot might be more your style, I hope you like it:

  • I agree with that assessment, but I do feel rage has some similar characteristics with hyper pop. I feel both are exaggerated sounds in their respective genres which is why I feel it’s catching on but everything cranked up does turn away people looking for a traditional sound

They smashed their live! Big powerful live vocals and an amazing performance. They did so good!
