AKMU announces their self-established agency Fountain of Inspiration

    The name of the new agency for sibling duo AKMU (Lee Chan Hyuk and Lee Su Hyun) has been revealed.


    On January 20, AKMU posted an announcement on the fan platform Weverse titled “Notice Regarding the Transfer of AKMU Community Contracts.”


    They announced, “Due to the expiration of AKMU's exclusive contract with YG Entertainment, the agency will be transferred and changed to ‘Fountain of Inspiration.’ The contract transfer date is January 27, 2026.”


    After winning Season 2 of the SBS survival audition 'K-Pop Star' in 2012, AKMU signed an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment the following year and made their official debut in 2014.


    They previously shared the news of their departure on November 21, 2025 from YG Entertainment, the company they had been with for 12 years since their debut.


    In particular, there had been predictions that they would go independent with the manager they have shared their journey with to establish a one-man agency for AKMU.


    Finally, the new agency name has been revealed as “Fountain of Inspiration,” attracting interest. “Fountain of Inspiration” is a name already familiar to fans. In 2023, Lee Chan Hyuk held an exhibition under the name “Fountain of Inspiration” in 2023, followed by “Lee Chan Hyuk: Fountain of Inspiration: The Last Drop” in 2025.

    their companys name is cool. I like it. I also think it makes sense that AKMU founded their own company in order to have more freedom in their creative process. I hope this turns into a period where their productivity increases.

    That's really nice, YGE didn't do much for them, specially after 2018 imo, they are big thanks to them alone. It's nice how they will keep promoting bc I even see viral sns posts about them, their clips of siblings fighting, etc, let's go AKMU!

    I think it was after their first renewal or something where Chanhyuk said something to the effect of YGE really didn't know what to do with AKMU but just let them be and do whatever they wanted...


    which is why AKMU initially renewed with YGE that although YG doesn't really have the best management the good thing about YG is they generally allow their artists quite a degree of freedom

    It's just YGE incompetence so while it was good for AKMU as they are pretty much everything they need, YGE should still have tried more for them. They always had hits and chances to get bigger.
