Now, LISA enters a new long-term partnership with Nike. First seen stepping out in Air Max 95s, a sneaker long tied to music, subcultures, and self-expression, her presence reflects a natural alignment between sport, style, and global influence. We caught up with her on set in Paris while shooting a Nike campaign to talk about training, creativity, and her partnership with Nike.

5 Questions With International Icon LISA

Can you share a core Nike memory, or your most memorable Nike shoe or a piece of apparel?

Lisa: During my trainee days before Blackpink, and even before that, I would only wear clothes that were good for dancing, like tracksuits, really big T-shirts, and sneakers. I remember I saved my allowance to buy a pair of Nike Dunk Highs for training. I was so young, so that moment and those shoes will forever be one of my most vivid Nike memories.

Can you tell us about what goes into your training routine today?

Lisa: I dance a lot! Long dance sessions are my main workout. But if I’m not performing or learning new choreography, I’m doing Pilates. I’ll focus on stretching and light cardio, and overall fitness. For me it’s about staying energized for everything I do. The one thing I need more of is sleep. I sleep a lot on planes.

How does fashion help you express your identity on stage and beyond?

Lisa: Fashion is a way to show my individuality and be confident. So,whenever I travel or go on world tours, I look at what kinds of clothes people wear. Just seeing how people dress in different parts of the world inspires me.

Why are you excited to partnering with Nike?

Lisa: I share Nike’s obsession with excellence, for craft and versatility.

What are you most looking forward to in partnering with Nike?

Lisa: I’m looking forward to bringing that energy to everything we do together. I want to encourage women everywhere to embrace self-expression and be confident in who they are and through what they wear.

  • I think this is huge. Lisas image is mostly tied to performance, street culture, and youth trends, which makes it easier for people to connect with. That’s why I also think collaborations like Nike feel like a natural fit for her.

plus, it was also the last remaining large athleticwear brand left.

    Lisa: Nike

    Jennie: Adidas

    Rose: Puma

Jisoo: Alo (not exactly an athleticwear brand, but close enough).

  • yeah, I know. lisas case feels more impressive because it's a global, long-term partnership.

We'll see but the initial introduction does seem they'll be using Lisa a lot for marketing. I just wonder if this will lead to a signature sneaker because it's hard to get signature sneakers with Nike. I think only a few musicians were able to get signature sneakers with Nike

Yes, I’m curious about that too. I also think Lisa’s visibility as an iconic figure, especially across Asia, is very strong from a marketing perspective. That said, her having this kind of deal with Nike, in my opinion, still keeps the possibility of a signature sneaker very much alive.

unlikely. Nike only releases signature sneakers for the athletes they have under contract. They might, however, release like dunks with a Lisa logo on it.

Not exactly true. Nike has given signature sneakers and branding to musicians. I think it's mainly rappers, but Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Kanye, and a few others had signature sneakers with Nike.

I think there's a chance they might give Lisa a sneaker line due to her popularity.
