I think the big 3 are dead like 100% so that concept is dead 100% and cant be recreated tbh because the concept is just so far gone from anything we could ever have now. Fans saying this like must not have been fans during the true big 3 choke hold. You could be literally ANY other girlgroup with ANY amount of funding and concept and you were going to flop because you were NOT big 3.

Slight exceptions only being gfriend and mamamoo for gen 3 and for gen 2 like i guess Kara (only bc of japan) and …. BEG…? But those are stretches in comparison.

If you truly want the 4th gen version its NewJeans v IVE (nobody else even came close) and 5th gen being PROBABLY Illit, H2H and maybe Kiiikiii.

None of those groups resemble the top 3 of 3rd gen

The concept of big 3 only existed in 3rd gen.

In 4th gen, it's either big 2 or big 5.

only meovv has star factor and is a really well made group

the other two are... ahem chop projects

with really boring members overall, and boring voices, well except haum and carmen...

but one or two members aren't enough to carry a whole group, if they aren't some Wonyoung or some Jennie i mean...

so it's kinda crazy to compare a group like kiikii to red velvet, like bro

h2h is nothing like twice and a crazy downgrade project in comparaison to rv too.

even meovv don't seem to have the charisma of bp, but they still have alot of potential.

and as a top visual, i only aknowlege Anna (or Ella)

You seem disappointed, but trust me, it’s better this way. They only took BLACKPINK’s aesthetic code but MEOVV is going to be a group that focuses more on vocals than rap.

I like KiiiKii this far. I hope they can keep up with the type of music they have had their first two singles, but often groups I first think are promising and mabye can be a new favorite, change style or their later songs are not as good as the start.

Why do people have this incessant need to compare everything new to what came before? Why not just let them be their own thing? Because none of these new groups can actually act as replacements for the older ones, especially if you don't allow allow them to establish their own identities, so what's the point of comparing already? At best, you're positioning them to forever be knock-offs of the genuine articles.

Not really and it's great this way, they have their own image, they just need to work hard in their charisma, that's what is getting k-pop groups nowadays, they lack charisma.

I like KiiKii music, h2h are good too and I love Meovv music, but just Meovv kinda grabs my attention to watch their performances.

With 3rd gen Twice, RV and BP were great, members going viral REAL VIRAL, songs going viral, national hits like, they weren't lacking in any aspect imo, they shone on stage and did history with their concept and music. So I don't think we have any group right now that can "resemble" them.

I can see the KiiiKiii and Red Velvet concept comparisons. However, I don't really see the Meovv and blackpink comparisons and same with H2H and Twice.

I think closest to this would be Illit because it seems their songs actually go viral and seems to be a gap compared to other 5th gen groups. I think if we're talking about actual 5th gen groups an impact it would be Illit and ADP tbh. I think both groups had songs that had impacts and had the most memorable songs and stages. SO far, I don't think the other 5th gen groups had that impact which is why I don't think we can do these type of comparisons yet imo.

Wonhee usually gets good reactions and seems to be one of the most talked about 5th gen idol. Unsure how much of it is just media play but there's decent discussion. Then Minju also gets discussed at times, but I hear you that impact-wise doesn't seem close to when those 3rd gen groups debuted.

I think the most difficult thing for 5th gen groups is 4th gen groups still being very strong. Also, if we look at ages some of the popular 4th gen idols aren't that far off from 5th gen idols. For example Wonyoung is the same sage as Yunah and Minju. Then if NewJeans returns you have a similar thing where popular members are the same age as 5th gen idols which puts 5th gen groups in a tough spot where they're still competing against 4th gen.
