  • I was looking at this drama just yesterday.

Life in the entertainment industry has not been easy for her at all.

This is absolutely diabolical. Trying to force a false diagnosis of a mental illness, making her believe she had a mental disorder, forcing her to get treatment, just so they could force her out of the group is an evil mastermind of villainy. Almost like back in the day when husbands used to call their wives hysterical, so they could get rid of them and have them committed to the crazy house.

I am so happy for the girls who managed to leave and escape willingly. Literally never going to follow a group from Lapone though. I'd crash out if this happened to my fave, and there was zero repercussions. The Japanese idol industry is WILD. Korea is bad as we all know, but this is crazy.

I feel bad for Kokoro though since this was her 2nd chance after everything that happened in Cherry Bullet, and they did her so dirty. If she can sue, I hope she does, and I wish her luck in her future activities.

  • That's awful news and I enjoyed their music too. Why must these companies fail idols and it makes it worse they didn't really punish the male idol who had the dating rumor but punished the me:i member.

Also, this makes me wonder about the IS:SUE member that seems to be missing. I don't follow the group that heavily and mainly just listen to their music. It does feel strange that there isn't much info about why the member is missing and knowing they're also a lapone group means something shady is going on.

  • I used to be a huge cherry bullet fan. Huge. I lost a lot of interest after the whole mess but I was still really happy when CB got a boost from girls planet and Kyungjoo, Linlin and Koko all made redebuts older and wiser.

There are a lot of idols that nice, funny, bright, cutesy, lovely etc. Kokoro was kind. Incredibly kind, caring and sensitive to the core. So when she was the only one to completely go off the radar after leaving CB, it sucked but I understood completely.

Lapone thought her experience in Korea would make her complicit in normalizing the typical agency abuses but it only made her more protective.

Looking at a full translation of her experiences and it's absolutely horrific. The company used her instead of the managers to issue warnings until there was an incident after she stood up for the team instead of disciplining them, and management proceeded to berate Kokoro for two hours over it. That's when they started trying to push her out the group.

The consultations where she was "diagnosed" only lasted 15 minutes. It took her and her mom months —and lawyers involved— to find out about the supposed hysteria and knife incident because the managers specifically told doctors to not tell her and just keep it in her file.

As disturbing as all of what Kokoro said is, it's equally terrifying that they did this to her because she was protecting the others from abuse
