In future K-pop contracts might include taking no legal action against the company for x number of years! [Theory]

K-pop contracts are notoriously known for being unethical and often dubbed slave contracts

Suing companies has always been a thing in K-pop but it feels more common or mainstream than ever!

I don’t know South Korean law so I’m not entirely sure what’s possible but I have a feeling companies will start including idols will be unable to take legal action against said company for the next X amount of years

Basically idols will give up their legal rights once they sign. It’s made even scarier because you have a group of teenagers with a dream of becoming successful and famous and will often breeze past the contracts and some guardians don’t check either (unless made public knowledge which it wouldn’t!)

I’m assuming it’s against the law in SK but I don’t know the SK laws! I’d like to think the government would protect people from this but K-pop is already quite unethical in a lot of ways so it wouldn’t be that surprising tbh if you think about it!

Remember just a theory! I don’t know SK law but I just thought Kpop companies aren’t the most lawful anyways

I agree with your first sentence but sometimes desperation/dreams outweighs logic in peoples times of needs!

A poor or desperate family or individual might be won over by the idea of making it big/ or a deposit we hear this often in American music labels scamming the new artist into a contract bribed by a big largesome

Mostly those that come from wealthy backgrounds or silver spoons know better. If you offer a talented teenager 500k - 1M upon signing a contract I’m pretty sure majority teens will hurry to sign!

Bringing this back to my Op, I hear horror stories of companies (not entertainment companies) adding these conditions to their contracts for staff

(Which obviously is red flags!) I was just curious if K-pop companies could legally apply this to their idols contracts considering things recently and how they will try to limit/prevent in future
