Blue valentine is one of the best songs of the year!

Love both groups, but BV is just extraordinary! 💙

Both bops but Blue Valentine has some weird emotional connection with me.

The melody sounds VERY familiar, i feel like it's been sampled from one or more songs from my childhood...yet i can't for the life of me figure out where i heard it before.

This adds to this intangible, ineffable feeling of nostalgia and melancholy i have for the song. In fact, this song literally embodies the whole concept of nostalgia for me.

Then you add in the dreamy choreo and i actually get emo everytime i hear this song.

It's the climax for me:

The fantastic drum fill, Lily singing, "I'm falling over and over and over" over a rock instrumental, followed by a heavenly wordless vocalisation and then the fill again, and finally Haweon's devastating, "You're getting colder, and colder, and colder", over a solitary piano.

Such a melancholy ending, and such a fantastic use of the Nmixx change-up gimmick.

It's not an emotional note you hear often in k-pop title tracks I think.

Burning up, the pre chorus dance break and outro are top tier

I want to like blue valentine but the song structure isn’t hitting for me, their vocals are beautiful though

Spinnin' on it > BURNING UP > Blue Valentine

Like both, but with all of the performances and dance practices I have watched, BV is on constant rotation in my head.

So, yeah.

Burning up is nice, Blue Valentine is turning me into a full NSWER. I was really into Nmixx during their debut era but Jinni's departure was hard to swallow. I kept an eye on them and now I want to stan them. This new album is just so great.

BU. I couldn't even finish BV.

I'm not a fan of either, but Blue Valentine is much better still.
