Is 4th gen the CURSED generation?!

  • Most if not all the top 4th ggs are in some serious legal issues, major public scandales, controversies, or just constantly witch hunted by the medias!

Firstly it started with the 5050 drama just after their huge global hit Cupid . Then the NJZ/Hybe war right after their outstanding 23 run. Then Kiof's scandal. Not forgetting the endless aespa hate trains. Specially this year after they blew up so big in 24...

It seems like ANYTIME a new 4th gg gets popular, or hits outstanding heights, SOMETHING happens RIGHT after. And in the end, it ends up in a situation in which many 4th gen TOP ggs can't even properly grow out of their rookie stage and expand their career and their fame :meme-confused: .

Specially NJZ, (og) 5050 and now Kiof...

I've never seen anything like that, to such scale in ANY generations before :!: On top of the fact that bgs maintream success have also died as well... And let's not forget how even Idle lost one of their most popular member. And even last year LSF had a massive controversy.

Is the 4th gen the CURSED generation pepe-ooh ?

Isn't it quite shocking? And what do you think might be the explanation behind that :/ ?

  • You mean Day6?

Probably Day6 cursing all of them

    That ends in 6 :pepemusic:

But what I mean, Tatiana1820 , is that these things have always been happenning in K-pop. Like, if it seems bigger, I would blame access to social media and attempt to appeal in markets with different sensibilities. e.g. I'm not sure Kiss of Life's scandal blows up in 2nd gen.

i get what you mean, but i don't think firstly whatever is happening with njz as ever happened in kpop. a top gg be blocked away from existing in their 2 nd year. and the 50 50 situations was so shady as well.

but most importantly, it's more about the ACCUMULATION of all these issues which is very concerning and unheard of in my opinion.

in 2nd and 3rd gen, most top group get to promote and grow at least as groups despite some controversies.

like we had BP, Twice, RV, Gfriend, Mamamoo

or SNSD 2NE1 KARA Sistar , even Tara's scandale happened later in their career.

    but this gen?

NJZ (og) 5050 Kiof had their career BLOCKED in their rookies years. (now it's not all over but still)

aespa also had it shares of drama with their producer being kicked out of sm, having a longer hiatus due to their company's legal drama, and going through constant massive hate trains all throughout their careers.

thik is in the 4th gen, most of this group were literally ROOKIES, they barely had the time to even grow and establish themselves. it's truly unheard of in my opinion and my observations.

  • I have been following kpop closely since 3rd gen, and 4th gen doesn't seem any different than 3rd gen. I think the major difference is we have more access to idols. Kpop becoming more accesible results in being exposed to more controversies. There was most likely the same amount of controversies with previous gens

Tell me a successful 3rd gen girl group that didn't have any controversy? Every group that had some success usually had some controversy to follow.

  • I've been ranting about this for over a year now after SM mastermind MHJ basically sabotaged all three of Hybe's GGs. The 4th gen scandals involving NJ and LSRMF have nothing to do with a curse, unless the curse is you know who's shaman lol.

I am convinced that there is a major shadow war going on behind the scenes between the old guard who have been seething for years and the new guard who are trying to plant their flags permanently at the top of the Korean music scene.

The old guard is of course SM, now funded by one of the biggest chaebol in Korea (Kakao) which has tentacles in every business in Korea. They have been seething behind closed doors for a decade after upstarts BTS embarassed them and took over in 2016.

The new guard is of course Hybe, who have grown to become 10x bigger than SM itself and still owns the biggest global groups in each generation (BTS for 3rd, NJ and LSRFM for 4th, and Illit and Katseye for 5th).

The thing that incited SM and Kakao into actual action was Hybe's attempt to take over SM. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. Those old men prob just lost it and decided to teach BPD and Hybe a lesson by declaring all out war.

It is no coincidence that everything that happened including MHJ sabotaging her own group AT THE LITERAL HEIGHT OF NJ POPULARITY, the manufactured idiotic hate train against LSRFM and Illit, the manufactured scandals against BTS, and everything else happened AFTER 2023 when Hybe tried to take over SM. Even these attempts to expose BPD's fraud are part of it probably. And it's not like Hybe has stood still, we saw what happened to Kakao execs who were convicted and sent to prison as well.
