Do you think CORTIS' popularity is forced?

I would say yes.
I don't keep up much with boy groups and only check on a few. However, Cortis is always appearing on my feed. Then there's so many articles about everything they do. Like I shouldn't know so much about members James and Martin when I don't follow the group or search up topics about them. Then there's controversy about their music which always keeps them in the public eye. I would say this is the most pushed boy group I've seen in quite some time because there's always articles and discussions about them.
I assume they're very popular with the amount of articles and posts I've seen about them.

I'll say yes ??
Cuz i didn't even know they were popular
I never see anybody talk about them
Never heard any of their music or see any of their performance
The only time i heard about them was when i saw army hyping a guy for his height
And seeing an article about them plagiarizing a song from Travis scott
Edit : i listen to their music and mybanswer is Yes, definitely
-
I haven't even heard this group and never seen a single live performance by them
But they keep randomly appearing on my tiktok
I don't even listen to newer BGs unless the song is super famous like TWS plot twist but I don't think their song is that popular is it?

Originally I thought yes! All the constant articles and especially about Keonho but with some time I’ve accepted they are genuinely popular. They get a lot of support too.
People only write about things/people that are popular/will be discussed. CORTIS does fit that

I also think Juhoon and Seonghyeon are so handsome! Especially Juhoon. He’s one of the prettiest male idols I’ve ever seen

All 5th gen groups are

i mean if they have a ton of streams just with their debut then yeah .
Like noone has heard of them and they get that much ??
-
The reception reminds me of how people reacted to RIIZE. I think this tends to happen with the boy groups that debut after 3rd gen.
There's no doubt the music is catchy.
It's really not so different from how the popular girl groups got promoted. It's K-pop. There's bound to be some kind of "forced" marketing, whether it's from companies or the fans.
-
I'd go as far as to say everything regarding popularity in K-pop is forced. It's just a matter of extent.
