watched victoria secret twice. wasn't as bad as people make it out to be

It really wasn't bad at all. For a last minute performance and with half the members missing, they did very well. It sucks that Tzuyu came down with a cold just before the performance, it could have been even better. She's actually one of the most stable members live.

And to no one's surprise

Honestly it’s not that bad! Considering they were dancing and had low to no backtrack and I’m sure were nervous too it was ok

The hate is because:

- it’s Twice! The bigger the group the bigger the backlash.

- rivalry driven! Whether they sang live or not they were going to get dragged either way by rival stans.

- unrealistic vocals expectations with kpop Stans!

- the event they performed in was a big one for fashion fans. IMO the aim should be vocal over performance as people are there to see the models/clothes.

Without dragging others I’m sure majority groups would sounds the same or worse given the same situation

To follow on... Instagram followers continue to increase, but also,

Twice's Spotify monthly listeners have increased by around 130,000 since the performance.

They are up 15 places in the Global artist chart (Karol G is also up by 11 places - she's the only other artist from the show charting).

Strategy has re-entered Global Daily after dropping off a few days ago.

This Is For's daily streams increased by around 200,000. It's nearing 700k daily streams.

I'm hearing that many of the items in their section of the VS store are selling out (particularly the bra Tzuyu wore).

We can only imagine what these numbers could have been if the performance was actually up to Lollapalooza standard. Either way, far from hurting Twice, the performance seems to have helped. Certainly VS got what they wanted out of it.

Like I've been saying all week, kpop discourse doesn't = what's happening outside of kpop. Most people enjoyed the performance and thought they looked great on stage. It's clear they did well with the amount of viewers they drew and merchandise they moved. Victoria's secret is probably thinking how do we book all 9 of them for next year

Anyway, for me I definitely felt that it was on their weaker performances side, and that Tzuyu situation was not the only problem. I had expectations that they would smash this being in the middle of their tour (they usually are more lively on stage and have better vocals while on tour) but it's okay, it happens. Just a little sad that it also happen to be right before their anniversary, but it can't be helped

On another side, I was a bit wary and not sure if I wanted to see Twice on a lingerie show, but the outfits were very cute and twicey (aside from Jihyo's who was absolutely gorgeous)

As y‍ou might know, I've been tracking Twice members' Instagram follower counts for quite some time n‍ow. Their V‍ictoria's Secret appearance had a very noticeable impact, as we can see in the chart below, which shows changes in followers over the past month:

Not surprisingly, the four members that actually performed on the 15th received the largest gains, but all the other members benefited f‍rom a sort of a "spillover effect".

What is a bit interesting is that M‍omo and J‍ihyo achieved by far the largest increases in followers, despite T‍zuyu wearing the most talked-about and most titillating outfit of the foursome.
