Where's the BABYMONSTER chart update thread?

  • Personally, I can’t really take chart shade against Baemon seriously, because they’re literally not a group that needs to chart in Korea. I’m not saying Korean charts are irrelevant ,they’re still important in terms of prestige and local influence, but for a group that already has strong digital and physical sales, and tours across North America and Asia, Korean charting isn’t a life-or-death matter.

That said, for those who are curious, Baemon usually enters the Korean charts once promotions begin , I’ll probably mention it when that happens.

    :meme-wink:

  • So many salty reactions to a thread I forgot I made as soon as I submitted it. Everyone accuses me of being the chart zombie, but you're the ones who always get emotional over them, while I'm the perfect picture of peace and civility.

I got better things to do than look up numbers for groups I don't really stan, so I'm asking the experts.

But based on the reactions, I got my answer.

Feel free to use this thread for updates.

I think their fans are busy streaming their new mini album, you know, active groups type of thing.

The inactive group I stan is still the most relevant K-Pop group in the world. This isn't the drag you think it is :meme-kek:

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • You didn't forget you made this thread, you aren't innocent either and congrats NJZ for the 4th gen record.

  • So you would claim NewJeans are more relevant than BTS?

  • If you dont stan, why do you care?

Besides the fact that you're a wanker?

Because I'm curious about how all the top girl groups chart. It ain't that deep.

You didn't forget you made this thread, you aren't innocent either and congrats NJZ for the 4th gen record.

I absolutely did forget until I returned to my AKP tab. You all really think AKP occupies any significant part of my mental real estate? Especially a low effort thread like this? Lmao

So you would claim NewJeans are more relevant than BTS?

    I said what I said.

  • Speaking of charts, here is the most popular recipe on recipetin eats!

Cheese, Garlic and Herb Quick Bread (no yeast)

    Prep: 15minutes mins

    Cook: 50minutes mins

    Cooling: 15minutes mins

    Total: 1hour hr 20minutes mins

A bread made without yeast with swirls of herb and pockets of cheese throughout with addictive garlic flavour. Slices well and especially great toasted!

Enjoy for morning tea, take to picnics, serve on the side of meals, dunk into soups and slow cooked stews! Serve warm for the best eating experience, preferably with lashings of butter.

PS You can totally use homemade or store-bought pesto instead of the herb & garlic swirl. Use 1/3 to 1/2 cup. Bear in mind the flavour will only be as good as the pesto you use 🙂

    Ingredients

7 oz / 200g block of cheese (cheddar or tasty), cut into 3mm / 0.1" thick slices, different widths for random ribbons throughout! (Note 1)

    Herb and garlic swirl

2 tbsp fresh rosemary , finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh parsley leaves , finely chopped
    1 tsp dried oregano
    1/2 tsp dried thyme
2 garlic cloves , crushed using garlic press or finely grated
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp cooking salt / kosher salt (halve for fine table salt)

    Dry Ingredients

    2 1/4 cups plain flour (all-purpose flour)
1 tsp baking soda (bi-carbonate soda), sub 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp cooking salt / kosher salt (halve for table salt)

    Wet Ingredients

1/2 cup plain yogurt , Greek or regular (full fat, unsweetened)
3/4 cup milk , full fat best, low fat ok
    2 large eggs (~50-55g/2oz each)
    3 1/2 tbsp (50g) unsalted butter , melted
    2 tbsp olive oil
2 small garlic cloves , crushed with garlic crusher or grated

    Instructions

Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F (both fan and standard ovens).

Loaf tin – Grease a 21 x 11 x 7 cm loaf pan (8.3 x 4.5 x 2.75") lightly with butter or oil spray then line with baking paper (parchment paper). (Note 3)

Herb and garlic swirl – Mix the ingredients in a small bowl, it should be a thick dollop-able mixture.

Dry ingredients – Whisk the Dry Ingredients in a bowl.

Wet ingredients – Whisk the wet ingredients in a separate bowl.

Combine – Make a well in the centre of the Dry Ingredients. Pour the Wet Ingredients in and mix until just combined.

Swirls and cheese Layer 1 – Pour 1/3 of the batter into the bread tin. Dollop 1/3 of the herbs across the top then use a knife to "swirl" it into the batter up and down, and also turning the batter over (refer photo below). Use 1/3 of the cheese slices and push them randomly into the batter. Push some all the way in and leave some poking out of the batter.

Layers 2 and 3 – Repeat twice more. Don't worry about herb mixture exposed and cheese slices sticking out the surface, looks amazing when baked!

Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden. Remove from oven and cover with foil, then bake for a further 20 minutes (total baking time 50 minutes). Check to make sure the centre is cooked by inserting a skewer – it should come out clean.

Cool in the loaf tin for 5 minutes then turn the bread out onto a cooling rack. Allow to cool for at least another 10 minutes before cutting thick slices. Butter is optional but always welcome!

The chart itself is not important, thing chart represents is.

Low debut chart position means an act doesn't have hype or reputation as singer among average audiences. This is pretty concerning because for an entertainer, hype is one of the end goals.

    OMG

    That reminds me

While I was in China I bought this super cute thing

Its like a plush burger right?

But when you open it up, it actually has an eye mask inside, but the two burger halves then act like cushions for the back of your head. Super comfy for flights!

  • Yeah... hmm... ?.... "Civility"? You?.... okay boy.

Compared to what I'm capable of, yes. I am the paragon of magniminity.

This is exactly what I mean when I say you weaponize charts and that your charts threads are not made in good faith. How exactly is this helping out the nugu groups, the ones in jeopardy of disbandment? That was the whole premise of your counter-argument. You’re a fraud.

All my chart threads are made in good faith. The faith in numbers never lying, unlike conversations about more nebulous, subjective and opinion-based topics.

You can say it's my opinion Idol A is a mediocre singer. You can't say it's my opinion Idol Song A is a #1 hit; it either is or it isn't.

Simple and clean is the way it should be.

  • You and these other egotistical AKP dudes who came before you fit into this exact same character archetype.

Y’all love to use “objectivity” as a way to exercise some superiority complex over others.

You don’t care about objectivity. You care about framing objectivity as superiority to prove people wrong and feel better about yourself.

I don’t get it. Why do you folks have such a kink for this?

It’s not in good faith when you’re constantly baiting people into saying the “wrong” piece of data just so you can prove them wrong and start fights.

There needs to be a case study on this.

  • Use this

    Or this

Yeah no. Bop/Flop threads are never chart threads.

I think this gimmick of yours as the tortured and aggrieved K-Pop stan has run its course. Find a new one to adopt and adapt.

It's K-Pop charts, dude. The choice to have a meltdown and descend into madness to write up these superfluous diatribes is a choice that only you should be held accountable for.

If these conversations aren't your speed, and no rules are being broken, just go enjoy the rest of your weekend instead of constantly trying to fall on a sword nobody is even asking you to wield.

It's not even a K-Pop thing. It's music. We talk charts. You don't have to love it, but you need to live with it or extract yourself from music communities.

  • Tru-Multistan genuinely cares about his favorites’ success and prosperity. He makes chart threads in good faith. I respect that.

Meanwhile Yama-Chan is the definition of an AKP charts wanker. He focuses on charts just so he can prove people wrong. He has no love for the game or anybody but himself. Proving people wrong by weaponizing numbers makes him gives him some weird dopamine rush.

How you guys normalized this on AKP for over a decade, I don’t understand.

You should see me and others in sports debates, if you really want to see how numbers get weaponized.

  • Nvm. I saw. Ummm. Should I post it or someone else?

Eff it. I'll do it. Since nobody else would.

    I...

  • I'd like to gently remind y'all that YG basically didn't advertise this release at all. Zero teasers outside of a couple posters that said "d-1", "d-0". I'm surprised they even remembered to release it.

  • I’m essentially calling you out for your weaponization of charts.

You know good and well what you’re doing.

It’s not wrong of me to pinpoint the root of toxicity and call it out. You can’t gaslight me on that.

You should see me and others in sports debates, if you really want to see how numbers get weaponized.

I’ve seen it all. Maybe not specifically you, but more generally in online sports communities.

Being a sports fan myself, I think it’s ridiculous that grown men would weaponize other grown men’s stats to make themselves feel better. It’s not even to hype up their favorite team or athlete. It’s to prove some other fan wrong.

I have some favorite athletes who aren’t all that impressive statistically, but I admire them for their technique and playing style. Shoutout Shaun Livingston.

It’s not wrong of me to pinpoint the root of toxicity and call it out. You can’t gaslight me on that.

I will need you to review the definition of weaponization and come to the realization that this thread doesn't meet the criteria.

If I wanted to bury BABYMONSTER, I have dozens more effective ways to do so than just asking the biggest BM fan here what their numbers are.

    Being

Okay, raging against the charts machine in music is one thing, but to do it in sports is beyond absurd. There are entire analytics teams employed by every professional team in the four major sports leagues for a reason, and box scores were a thing since before your parents existed, let alone us. The players you mentioned? THEY CHECK THEIR OWN STATS. And don't even get me started on sports betting.

There was a whole ceremony and celebration, where the game was literally stopped, when that fraudulent narcissist, LeBron, broke Kareem's record for most points in NBA history.

You're going to die on an awful hill if you think numbers discussions have no place in both music and sports.

  • Well this certainly puts everything in perspective
