  • K-pop exploded in the U.S. during the 2010s, and few songs sound the way that insurgency felt as much as “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” a 2018 track from the superstar girlband Blackpink. Fueled by whirling trap snares and glitching synths, “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” showcases all four of the group’s members in thrilling fashion. Lisa and Jennie handle the verses with full-throttle rapping that’s as braggadocio-packed as they are nimble, while Rosé and Jisoo layer a sour-candy coating atop the proceedings with a sweetly delivered — yet gently menacing—prechorus that sets up the triumphantly sputter-along refrain. —M.J.

  • Now I'm interested ^^ but these lists are nonsense anyway and are often paid. And I'd say that even if my faves are on the top.

    citron-icy

I had to check top 50 and bottom 50. Lol

My faves are the highest ranked kpop group and the list is still nonsense. Bad bunny's Safaera is better than lose yourself :clown:

Never heard the song before and i had to check the lyrics because i knew they were nonsense. It starts with:

Bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla
    Ey, yo, yo, yo
    Yo, yo, yo, yo, ya
    La-la-la-la-la-la-la (blow, blow)
    La-la-la-la-la-la-la

    :clown:

And then he says in Spanish:

    Damn, how insane

    You have a nice ass

Whatever you put on looks amazing (Lalalalala; aight)

Move it, move it, move it, move it (Lalalalalalala)

    How insane (Lalalalalalala)

    You have a nice ass

Whatever you put on looks amazing (Aight; tra!)

Move it, move it, move it, move it

What a lack of respect, mami
How dare you come without panties?

    :clown:

Let's ignore #1 for the moment. Lose yourself is #39 and this nonsense is # 11, it almost ended up in top 10

    :clown:

  • But no one will pay for NewJeans in 2025 so at least there will be some genuine positions.

Even if they aren't paid, companies want clicks, they know that kpop fandoms are passionate and they'll do everything to support their faves. Just mention them and let fandoms do the work. And then you can focus on people you really wanted to focus on.

Even then, except the 2 inevitable groups, rest of kpop fandoms are not really make noise intl. So for an intl magazine to put an inactive group here they must think the group is that hyped. It's still commendable.
