All right. All right. I can admit one clear advantage boy groups have over girl groups

  • On average, they can bring more intensity and energy to concerts/festivals.

That advantage is very obvious in a live concert where both boy groups and girl groups perform.

I would never ever add most of the "noise music" boy groups these days release to my playlist, but noise music seems to quite literally be made for concerts.

And boy group choreography is generally more athletic and intense than girl group choreography, so their ability to hype up and energize the crowd has a generally higher floor than girl groups.

You're not going to see girl group members doing backflips mid choreo for instance.

I'm comfortable with admitting this, even though I greatly prefer girl groups and their music.

So I give you at least this win, boy group stans.

It's not quite the same but not bad ;judgingpepe:

  • I think it depends on the group. Twice for example being a very high energy stage in their concerts and it’s not second to any BG. On the flip side I can’t say the same for SM GG’s like RV who often look dead on stage.

The alternative is something like BP or BIGBANG who just don’t… do anything at all and live off “swag” but that’s something YG groups are famous for. Certainly doesn’t endear their concerts to me but it’s a thing ppl enjoy.

I completely agree. I think some like looking at circus acts with singing, whilst others like to just take in their voices... Listening to each note they sing.

There are outliers, but I'm speaking more to the average performance. KCON makes it very apparent since so many groups perform over a 3 night span. Like two dozen or more, if you count all the pre-concert performances and festival stages.

I mean it’s not like as if YG acts have voices worth taking in but that’s neither here nor there :pepe-joy:

Just two different types of circuses if you ask me. One with acrobatics and the other is prancing around in a try hard manner.

There are very few acts who bridge the gap between putting on a good show while simultaneously being great singers.

  • Do you know what complimenting a post 3rd generation boy group demands of me?

I'm just saying songs like this:

Just have a baseline intensity to them that is perfect for a huge venue like KCON. Hey, I made a thread a couple days ago about the best girl group stages, so I'm not saying girl groups can light up the stage too.

But that performance intensity just comes easier for boy groups than girl groups.

  • the best flipper who ever flipped is female
