The US has a better song called Dirty Work that most people are familiar with. Non-Kpop fans will play Aespa, thinking it's a cover, then not listen again.

But MYs told me they would for sure.
That they are the best with international charts
lol I thought with all the playlisting they had thanks to SM that they would at least crack 99
This was the perfect scenario and opportunity for aespa to pull it off.
At this point, I don't know if it will ever happen, if it didn't happen even with SM and MYs abusing a loophole that will almost assuredly be closed by Billboard at some point.

turns out music needs to be good to chart, who woulda guessed
I don't understand why fandoms would even be proud and brag about getting on the chart by brute forcing their way with mass album buying to take advantage of the current calculation methods used by Billboard
I legitimately would not want to brag about that, since a song like Cupid absolutely didn't need album sales (and virtually had none) to make history, let alone chart at all.

This is...Look, I try not to judge the ways fans choose to support their artists or spend their money, because that's their decision to make, not mine. I've tried to vote in music shows before, I've bought albums from retailers that would count the purchase towards Hanteo/Gaon, and I've tried to stream on MelOn before (and failed).
But this.
This is something I can't help but judge. Especially when it's to get on a chart like the Billboard Hot 100. It feels fraudulent.
And a song that gets on the chart via these means would only last for 1 week regardless. It doesn't feel like a real achievement or representation of the song blowing up in the U.S. at all like APT or Cupid.
I hope Billboard bans this kind of chart rigging.

Despite the prestige of Hot 100 as precieve by most companies and people, I don't think it matter much if you are charting at the bottom of the chart and out of the chart in a week or a few weeks if you are lucky.
Seriously, I don't think it worth it if you are not BTS/Blackpink. In this case, I don't think aespa deserve it because they did not chart on most U.S charts.
If you have a song that go Viral and chart on Hot 100 like Fifty Fifty/Illit, then that's great. Just go with the flow, it is not worth it for the fans or the companies to mass buy just to chart for a week. In the end, it did not do much for the groups in the long run. Just look at these 2 groups I listed, even with tons of week hot 100, their career in the U.S are going no where.
I think these Global 200 and Global 200 exclusive are more impressive If you can chart in the Top 10 and consistently chart on it in each comeback

Oh, they certainly still care about NewJeans. A lot. I don't know why you think brands not being able to renew their deals with NewJeans while they're in the midst of a giant legal dispute with their former agency would prove otherwise, especially in a week where both Chanel and Omega launched new advertising campaigns with Minji and Danielle respectively, but I bet you thought you were cooking with this sad shade attempt, huh?
Don't worry. I have a thread planned for how much Korea "doesn't care" about NewJeans anymore.
And it will have LOTS OF TWITTER LINKS DaisyTheGenuine

I can't stop laughing at the biggest aespa chart account writing a whole concession speech because their bulk order album buying strategies were completely discounted by Billboard. The second-hand embarrassment is real.
If a NewJeans or Mamamoo chart account that size started eulogizing their failed attempt at charting in the Hot 100, I'd plea for the fandom to disown them

NJZ and MMM at probably not the same case lol
NJZ had Hybe and their connections to chart so HYBE groups don’t need to rally for rigging Spotify generally.
MMM never charted anywhere relevant internationally so probably it’s a moot point there.
