You do. Stop lying. It's BS and you know it. I'm not going to post some long-winded diatribe today; I'm keeping it simple.

The same people who I see mocking the relevance of MelOn in particular are the same people making 5 achievement threads a day when their favorite artists pull off high MelOn debuts, roof hits and All-Kills.

The real tea is that the charts don't matter when your favs flop and then they're suddenly relevant when your favs have a hit.

Exactly. With the exception of a few successful groups, Korea matters for hundreds of kpop groups who try to get their foot in the door.

Maybe it's an ATINY thing, because I am similar! I was excited about ATEEZ's Billboard charting. But usually I don't pay that stuff much mind!

It's great and fun when it happens, but okay when it doesn't!

There's very few people saying they don't care about Korean charting at all and are you sure it's actually these same people getting excited about good charting?

But also I don't think it's completely hypocritical to say you don't care about something but then get excited when you get it. It's like I don't care about jetskis. But if someone just gave me one I would get kinda excited. Maybe when they say they don't care they mean it's not something high up on the list of things they desire not that they literally wouldn't care at all that they got it.

I agree because anyone here will get excited if they see their faves doing well on the charts, or at least most people, so they do care. Though I never see any users here completely dismissing Korean charting, but nobody weights it heavily as you do in discussions about "top groups" and that's a fact lol.

And there's nothing wrong with caring about charting imo, unless it's like affecting your mood when your faves don't do well. I hope that's not the case for anyone here.
