Red Velvet is probably the most consistent girl group of the 3rd gen, because they didn't really left their comfort zone, and their music is more for the general public, but MMM is more versatile in every way.

If a BIG4 group do something different from their own style, they will usually flop in a way.

discography wise, yes! i mean all of their songs are top-tier including zimzalabim (except umpah umpah, i loathe that song)

RV is the most hit-or-miss group in all of kpop to me. Their misses really flop, but their hits are some of my favorite GG songs.. Some of their concepts are most interesting in kpop, and others really badly executed. Very back and forth with them, I never know where I have them lol. So it's between them and BP for me

TWICE has released approximately 233 songs as of this year, excluding songs from soloists or subunits. Instead of imposing a cutesy concept on them, you should explore their B-sides, especially Japanese songs.

Honey, Red Velvet is in my TOP3 favorite girl groups of all time, with SNSD and Mamamoo. I heard all of their songs millions of times. I love most of their songs, basically 90% of their discog.

My opinion about RV and pretty much every BIG4 group has nothing to do with Mamamoo. Red Velvet never left their comfort zone. Their main genre is Pop, Dance, EDM, Ballad, and R&B. Their concept usually has the same RV vibe. It's not like you can see Red Velvet doing crazy concepts like Mamamoo did!

You wanna talk about experimental discographies? Sure, RV has one of the best, but Mamamoo released songs in like 20 genres, that's experimental. RV always had the same SME style of music that's why they're so loved. You don't see RV or any BIG4 group releasing songs like: "Mr. Ambiguous, Piano Man, Ahh Oop, Taller Than You, and so many others.

Not to mention a full-on ballad album that no other Kpop group ever done before MMM and since then. If that's not experimental, I don't know what is.

well OFTN was a mini album, but it was mostly ballads or slow rnb songs so... i think it was pretty experimental. also zimzalabim was pretty insane too; and actually even red flavor was crazy stuff going on in that songs, specially in the production...

peek a boo as well had an unique non singing chorus hook! and many other examples...

anyway, 'experimental' isn't necessarily better. RV is pop/rnb done masterfully. fact is, RV has an IMMACULATE (Top 10) title track discography. it's UNMATCHED truly .

Never said, experimental is better, I do prefer that, because most groups releasing the same songs, basically, so I rather watch my faves flop and dislike their songs than just put out the same thing to please the masses, and that's what BIG4 agencies usually do. RV has amazing R&B songs, but saying it's unmatched is an exaggeration. Especially when you listen to f(x) or MMM's R&B songs. For the record, every MAMAMOO title track was a hit too since 2016, but most people forget that, because they're not mainstream.

Ended up voting for RV

Even though they're hit or miss, there's still more songs I love than in BP's small discography, and my most favorite RV songs I also love more than my favorite BP songs.

Bad Boy is probably my favorite kpop GG song ever released, and it's been since it came out until now.

Also, I like you pointed out, I can't really think of another GG that intrigued me as much with their concepts. When it's done well, it's so good. I remember how fun and different concepts like Peek-a-boo, Dumb Dumb and Russian Roulette were, and how beautiful and creative Feel My Rhythm's MV is. In addition they have some of my favorite harmonies in kpop, Seulgi's and Wendy's voices are so beautiful.

I know it's a ballad, I just don't know these short names, LOL!

Saying the EP didn't have an upbeat song is not true, I mean, "Cool Hot" and "Light Me Up" are pretty up-beat songs, but yeah, the Title Track is definitely a ballad and that was a bold move.

What's unmatched is not really an argument, because everyone has a different taste, so there's no point arguing about that. MAMAMOO's discog is more for me, because I love many genres, I love RV, mostly because of their R&B songs, but not many (or any?) group can give me high quality Jazz, Blues, Folk, etc music. But again, this is 100% about personal taste.

best most successful in korea (and japan)

and there were no nation gg in korea in 3rd gen. actually, OMG during 2020/2021 were the closest to it but they didn't last and their career path was pretty unusual.

also RV will be remembered as well, many people prefer their discography/work to the other top 3 3rd gen ggs. so...
