    1. qwer (13) 65%
    2. illit (7) 35%

The battle of Plassey was fought in 1757.

It was nominally a fight between a gentleman named Siraj ud Daulah and a Mir Jafar for the control of Bengal.

But, actually, it was a fight between the French, who supported the former, and the English, who support the latter.

The latter won, which is why India uses English instead of French, but either way india was to be conquered by one of them.

The spectacular collapse of Kpop's Senior Singer, who is mocked by even her company singer Woodz and will no longer be able to extract filial duty from the 4.5th and all subsequent generations of KPop, was very, very unexpected.

However, that does not give a respite for KPop acts, as qwer, who pursues Japanese style girl band music, will now have its once-in-a-lifetime chance to seize the initiative of Kpop.

qwer is very likely to advance to #1 of Melon charts since by that time 10cm's cover of Ki mi Todoke is likely to weaken and qwer follows the Japanese style of rock, preferred by the people who listen to Melon.

Smelling where the wind is blowing from, Sakai Moka of Illit covered Bansanka (Song of Dinner) by tuki.

With two Japanese member and one vocal, if this comeback fizzles Illit could transform into a band in my opinion, since all the good songs will go to Katseye first and LeSserafim holds a firm chokehold in Japan.

So it will be decided between an act doing Japanese style girl band music and a group which 2/5 Japanese.

    Either way JPop wins.

However this battle will decide whether bands or idols will lead KPop. If the former wins, KPop can now be safely declared as finished.

  • So your argument is that kpop will be conquered by jpop either way? I’m not sure I agree with that. Korea moves at lightning speed and follows trends before ditching them and moving onto the next, whereas Japan has ideas that nestle deep within them and shapes them for decades. It just so happens that jpop sounds currently have some popularity in Korea but I wouldn’t expect it to last.

Still, I agree this is the moment QWER can propel themselves to the top. The stars are aligned for this comeback. Personally I hope they beat Illit (who are my mortal enemies).

Not anymore as Korea's youth population has dried out and those leading the JPop revival are people in 25-35 demographic, who have seen and heard everything.

They have had enough of KPop, and are too young to follow trot, so they follow Japanese style music, whih tends to be more personal than Korean songs.

Japanese singers are having concerts at the Gymnastics, the Inspire Arena and one of them even had a concert at the Gochuck. And now they occupy the top position at Melon , defeating even IU, the last wor on Korean digitals. If IU cannot defeat JPop who can.

Qwer has taken the top position on this genre. It will do well. Illit has not had any good songs since Magenetic, so if they bring another Cherish or Almond Chocolate, Qwer will roll over it.
