Do you agree with this sentence?

  • "If you want to do your life all over again, then you really haven't lived."

When I was listening to the radio one day, I heard someone say that.

Or something like that, I don't remember exactly what that person said.

But well... there are times where I have wanted to start some parts of my life over again, despite the fact that I can't rewind some of them.

I feel like there are stuff that I regret doing and stuff that I regret not doing.

And I have a problem with dwelling in the past.

Even though I know that you probably shouldn't focus too much on things that you can't control. (the past being one of them)

And yes, instead of dwelling in the past, I probably should be thinking about the present and the future.

Changed the title of the thread from “Do you agree wih this senence?” to “Do you agree with this sentence?”.
  • I have heard it’s a common fantasy to imagine reliving your life with your acquired knowledge now and using it to make better decisions/change the path of your life.

So I would say no, I don’t agree with the quote, because I think everyone does this naturally, even those who have lived “fulfilled” lives.

At the same time, it seems the point of the quote is not to agree/disagree with it, the point is to serve as inspiration for someone wallowing in regret and self-pity and get them to “carpe diem”, or, seize the day.

In fact, just reading that quote has stirred a conviction in me to spend less time on this forum today and make sure I accomplish everything I want to today. So with that in mind, see you tomorrow everyone! 👋
