I see no reason why the universe needs to have a creator. There are interpretations of quantum mechanics saying the creation of the universe can be acausal. The laws of gravity can allow the creation of universe to be spontaneous. Then why is it that as humans we are still limited by the human perception of things being "created" or "destroyed".
Thermodynamics literally says energy can neither be created nor destroyed only transformed. So we already have an entity that's an example of not having been created. Then why does the universe need to be?
I believe it's humanity's inferior capabilities that keeps its vision limited. Like how we can only perceive the world in three dimensions this is another one of our shortcomings.
A fish in the pond doesn't understand the world outside the pond and is limited by its perspective. Just like we humans have an inherent need of seeking some creator. Without one we feel hopeless and purposeless. The idea of being alone in the universe or that our existence has no significant meaning scares us.
I just think it's sad. Constantly seeking purpose and without one feeling desolate is a limitation.
