The Story Foundation announced that the Story Blockchain-based intellectual property (IP) real-world asset (RWA) project, Aria Protocol (‘Aria’), has acquired partial music copyrights for more than 50 songs by global artists, including BLACKPINK.
Aria raised $10.93 million (approximately KRW 15.7 billion) through the ‘Aria Premiere Launch.’ This program is designed to tokenize high-quality music IP acquired by Aria on the blockchain, allowing investors to share in the revenue generated from the copyrights. Through this initiative, Aria aims to establish music IP as a more stable financial asset.
The songs for which Aria has secured partial copyrights include BLACKPINK’s “Yeah Yeah Yeah” and “Ready For Love,” Jisoo’s “FLOWER” and “All Eyes on Me,” as well as BIGBANG’s “Still Life.” Additionally, since January, Aria has also acquired copyrights for songs by global artists such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Maroon 5. These copyrights will be distributed and revenue-shared with users participating in the ‘Aria Premiere Launch.’
Andrea Muttoni, Chairman of the Story Foundation, stated, “BLACKPINK is an artist with global influence beyond Korea, and the financialization of their music IP will serve as a crucial step in expanding the blockchain-based copyright market.”
