Does Blackpink solo music is similar what they released inside yg?

  • I think the girls got a lot creative freedom inside yg. Main difference is that, they can release significantly more songs now.

Rosé got similar classical instruments like guitar in her music, like she got for Gone

Jisoo music is very similar too, it is similar EDM music

Lisa, I don't think her music is really that far what she got inside YG?

Jennie is the most different, but she said herself her album is like buffet, little bit everything for everyone

  • Lisa's music is different, only rockstar was similar to her solos when she was in yg.

I don't think Rosé would've release apt if she was in yg, but again Teddy is the one that encouraged her to release it so idk.

Jennie's mantra was kinda her sound in yg but her other release are different.

I do believe Teddy gave them artistic freedom like you said but sometimes it's better when artists go their own way, meet new producers and develop their own artistic style and I think it really shows in BP solo work. Rosé said she learned a lot after working with Bruno and that she improved a lot.

  • I do think some is similar yea but we would've never gotten the level of production or the amount of music we are getting if they had stayed with YG. We'd be lucky to be getting 1 solo with < 10 songs, instead we are getting EVERY member with dozens of songs all in the same time period. So maybe YG would have allowed them to do whatever they wanted musically but YGE would've never been able to facilitate projects of this level for each girl in such a short time.

  • I don't think flower and all eyes on me are similar to her new releases . I guess you can argue with all eyes on me but

but production wise her recent music is more polished and public friendly and most importantly they knew how to utilize her vocals. Black pink's production are good to but they do have that YG element that some people don't always love I don't find Jisoo's new music as polarizing as her older solo releases if anything she is getting positive responses.

With Rosé well you can tell her music direction is pretty much her style. Now about Lisa and Jennie we have to wait for their albums to be out. So far, I'm seeing something new like another side coming from them.

For Rosé there is definitely similarities even in Pictures

  • The way I understand it, YG/Teddy gave the girls an outline and they got to fill it in a way that suits them. Now they have complete control over their works. They're free to show more sides of themselves but they weren't forced into their original solos/personas

Jennie has the most different take but I doubt she got as much input as the others for her YG solo because of how early into her career she was

  • YGE always knew their strength so while I understand your point I don't think so specially with Lisa and Jennie.

Rosé is the most similar to what she did in YGE, but she was always like this so not really a YGE style, it's her style since pre debut, always.

Jisoo did AEOM, but I doubt YGE would give her something like Amortage, their view for her was Flower, which is a bop, but music wise she followed another direction.

Jennie just had Solo tbh and Y&M and her songs for now are totally different.

I won't even talk much about Lisa who got Lalisa and out of yge released New Woman, Moonlight Floor and Born Again, never in her YGE life they would let her take such a different direction bc it wouldn't match her YGE image, but in the album we'll get heavily hip hop songs and rather than YGE it's just her style.

Overall YGE would never give this much freedom for them so no, they just know their strengths and are doing everything they can to explore their best sides.
