Stat Nerds, please chime in. Which NewJeans statistic is the most impressive?

Statistic A: 3 songs (Ditto, OMG, Hype Boy ) spending 3 consecutive months at #1, #2

and #3 on every chart in Korea--a record

Statistic B: NewJeans started their careers by spending 66 consecutive weeks in the MelOn Weekly Top 10--a record and longest by any artist

Statistic C: NewJeans charted 3 songs in the top 10 simultaneously in 4 different eras--first group ever to do so

Statistic D: NewJeans setting a new record and almost doubling the old record for most cumulative weeks in the MelOn Weekly Top 10

Statistic E: NewJeans accounting for 10% of the MelOn Daily Top 100 with songs from each era since their debut making an appearance

Statistic F: The absurd longevity of Hype Boy

I guess I'll tag BunniesTaglist too, since I'm genuinely curious which statistic Bunnies, at least the ones who care about charts, are most impressed by.

However the most impressive thing they did for me is the streak in the top 10 since their debut until they first left. I don't have the numbers exactly, and I don't think many chart accounts updated about it since it's not something we've ever seen before, but since Attention's entry in the top 10 until ETA left the top 10 in around November 2023 I think? They had all the time at least a song (and most of the time 3...) charting in the top 10, and in those 70~ weeks they accumulated with their songs more weeks in the top 10 than any artist ever in Korea apart from Davichi, BB and IU. I don't know how I'd word it to label it as a "record" since like i said is not even similar or close to the rest of achievements we're used to see, but I find this the most impressive thing they did chart wise without any doubt. I'm pretty sure the NJ charts account said something about it when ETA left the top 10, maybe you can find it so we can see the exact numbers.

I'm also torn between the two stats you mentioned, but for the second of the two, isn't that already linked in Statistic B? 66 consecutive weeks?

I can't see that kind of achievement being replicated ever again, but I also feel the same about Statistic A--both have never happened before.

68 consecutive weeks is a lot but can be replicated (Aespa with Supernova and Whiplash are probably going close to 50 for example), but the fact that they had several songs charting most of the time and accumulated something like 160-180? with all their songs, surpassing every other artist whole discography apart from 3 is insane.

For me, it's the combo of the consecutive weeks and the streak starting from their debut and lasting until their third era started to finally wind down.

As unlikely as it is, I can maybe one day see some group pulling off Statistic A, even though NewJeans was the first to ever do it.

But I actually can't see a rookie group debuting and sticking in the top 10 for over a year.

But at the end of the day, I'd probably pick statistic A too.

I honestly cringe when I see people downplaying the absurdity of that stat. There is a reason it had never happened before. It's still hard to wrap my mind around a group holding the top 3 spots on every chart for a literal quarter of a year.

The closest to it was Big Bang with the MADE series, and even that was "only" 2 songs not 3. The more you think about the stat, the crazier it gets. The songs didn't change positions for 3 straight months

It's overwhelming even for me, so it was hard even choosing 6 of what I deemed the most impressive. There were dozens of others I could've posted, like spending the most hours at #1 of any idol group this decade, even though they didn't even exist from 2020 through the first 7 months of 2022.
