He just completed his inauguration now

    original post: here

    1. I do hate Trump but you have to agree with what's right. It's true that there are only 2 genders, male and female

    2. He did good for this

    3. Even a broken clock can be rightㅋㅋㅋㅋ

    4. This is the truth!

    5. The only part where I can agree with him

    6. The American education system will go back to how it was too

    7. The fact that we now have to say something so obvious is..

    8. I really like this

    9. The Democratic Party was the one that screwed up women's rights

    10. I also agreed with this

  • I cannot believe a president had to say such a sensible comment to wake up those who think otherwise.

You're either born as a male or a female. Simple!

I've known it my entire life!!!!

How difficult is it for others to understand that???? :pepe-shame:

And for those who push back on my opinion and may reply to this, GTFO of the thread.

I have no intention of responding to you.

  • We'll never have this issue because my language is gendered. You can either be male or female, you cannot speak neutrally no matter how hard you tried. Even the word non-binary has two forms, masculine or feminine (nebinaran/nebinarna).

I would say that it is the same thing in my native language.

When I watched a documentary where one of the people there is non-binary, there was a scene though where they said "eg eri tyst". (meaning: "I am thirsty")

"tyst" is neutral plural and also feminine, while in masculine, it is "tystur". (but in my language, "they" also have forms, which is feminine, masculine and neutral. Feminine would be "tær eru tystar", masculine would be "teir eru tystir" and neutral would be "tey eru tyst")

So, for some people, who were watching and thinking that they were a cis man, they probably thought that they were using the feminine form.

We don't have neutral, we have neuter that is used for objects. we have grammatical gender and cases and we don't need to use pronouns because word ending will tell us gender.

When Nemo won on Eurovision last year we used "he" because they/them can't work here. It's either he or she for living beings (with the exception of human and animal kids (child, puppy, kitten, piglet...) they are neuter but baby is feminine).

To give you example. Past tense of do:

In english "did" never changes its form. In Serbian:

    Ja sam uradiO/LA (m/f)

    Ti si uradiO/LA (m/f)

    On/ona/ono je iradiO/uradiLA/uradiLO (m/f/n)

    mi smo uradili

    Vi ste uradili

    Oni/one/ona su uradiLI/su uradiLE/su uradiLA (m/f/n)

We usually don't use pronouns, it's just

    UradiO/uradiLA sam

    UradiO/uradiLA si

    UradiO je/uradiLA je/uradiLO je

    Etc

Like you can see, word ending tells you everything. You cannot speak the other way rules are really tight

they just haven't gotten around to changing your language yet. They're still trying to convince Latinos to call themselves LatinX and pushing for a gender neutral Spanish language.

Trust me, that wont do in slavic languages. It's impossible to even try to speak neutrally. Have you ever wondered why nobody from Russia speaks about this topic? Or Poland? Or my country, Serbia? Because it can't work. Which makes our languages hard to learn because you need to memorize word endings. Russians do use pronouns but we do not, they are unnecessary, verb endings tell us the pronoun.

If I'm not mistaken Turkish and Hungarian don't have pronouns, they'll be fine too lol

  • I wouldn't say he's entirely wrong but he's not entirely right, either.

I just don't see the point in putting tight restrictions on something we know so little about.

What deems someone "male"? What deems someone "female"? Is it the biological characteristics?? Well, there is a lot we don't know about the human body so how can anyone be sure what biological characteristics are strictly male vs strictly female?... is it the physical characteristics, then? Well, there are males with feminine features and attributes and the same can be said vice versa.

I have heard that they actually prefer "Latine" rather than "Latinx".

:meme-u-ok: :meme-u-ok: i learned before i was even 12 in school and outside of it to recognize what makes a male and what makes a female and i could tell one from the other pretty easily idk why you think its ambiguous :meme-what-is:

Just because you can tell a male from a female does not mean those are the only genders that exist. There should not be a definite classification of something you have indefinite knowledge of.

  • Social life needs practical solutions.

Gender might be biologically a range, but practically providing for 2 is effective enough for nearly all Population.

There need be no active discrimination against those who are/feel there aren't in either category - male or female.

But expecting "systems" to contort themselves to provide for them is just impractical and burdensome.

The places where it really matters are few, romance, healthcare, certain sports, lockers/toilets - there the individual should adapt to whichever space where they don't discomfort others or others them.

Only the American Left is nonsensical enough to make a big deal of such thing over a decade. Hence the backlash.

  • what genders are there besides male and female? :meme-confused::meme-confused::meme-confused:

I don't know and thats the point. I don't know, and neither you nor any other human being on this planet can say, with limitless knowledge of the human body, that male and female are the ONLY genders that exist or are capable of existing. I understand being firm on your belief that male are female are all that exist currently but you should also be open to the possibility of others because there is so much of life and the human body that we have not explored/figured out.

okay until we find these so called undiscovered genders im just gonna stick to the 2 known ones :meme-u-ok:

Since you're such an expert in this field, there's something I need you to help me with. What is this person's gender?

It's been eating at me for a long time now, so I would appreciate a professional opinion.
