Also, biggest? Sure. For now (it won't last). But best? No way. Their predecessors were better in almost every way. And I've seen them and their peers in concert multiple times. Their concert was certainly not the "best"

I know it's ultimately due to awkward timing, but it's still a jarring and curious statistic to see. When you bundle it with their lack of daesangs, it creates a very glaring hole in their otherwise unassailable resumes.

Melon Year end is not that great a chart, songs released later in the year, will rarely make to the top, that chart is not well balanced.
Even IU, it was 2021 before she got to #1 on that chart with Celebrity.
So interesting trivia, but otherwise does not indicate anything much about any GG in S, Korea in any year.

They actually had a chance at it in 2018, but Momoland let it Bboom Bboom to start the year, so it wasn't meant to be. Ironically, that was BLACKPINK's best opportunity as well, but they are fated to take Ls from girl groups with names beginning with "M"

i was also surprised but Rollin/ BG were huge in 2021 and had released much earlier than Next level which I think placed 5th place
