Let's vote about this NewJeans vs ADOR/HYBE legal fight!

  • How long will it take for NJ to win this battle if they can? 30

Don't wanna say much, I'm just curious what Tokkis think and Kpop stans in general.

As Yama usually says, I'm just collection data!šŸ˜‚

My opinion is simple, btw. I think this battle will be long and HYBE won't let them leave, and my guess is that this legal fight will take at least 3 or even 4 years, before the girls are free, and I still think they won't release any music till this over. UNLESS they can win this fight before their contracts expire! I think that's 5 years!

    So, what do you think?

  • I have no idea about Korean law or who is at advantage. So, my best scenario is them leaving as soon as possible and with the least damage to their image. In the worst scenario they stay 5 more years, make as much money as possible and then leave.

  • The lawsuit ADOR filed is expected to last for at most 9 months, though it might finish way earlier.

And I can't emphasize this enough, they are free to release music anytime even while the lawsuit is ongoing. This is the reason why they didn't file any lawsuit against ADOR first so they could continue with new activities.

    exactly :yesr: !

i already predicted the first injunction win by mhj.

i also predicted her breaking her non comptete and leaving with njs hehehe.

NOW i'm 'predicting' njs first full album being released in the first quarter of 2025 and very likely NewChella 2025 :smirks:. (the time that lawsuit might last is almost irrelevent)

it will most likely again backfire at hybe, and HARD. njs will actually get compensated and they'll get their ips back! BRUH!

The one who has more money has the bigger advantage!

It doesn't matter if it's Korea or any other country. Most of the time, the one who has the power wins, not the one who's actually innocent!

Show me a real evidence, please, because there's no way in hell the girls can release new music under the name of NewJeans!

And who's gonna release their music? No Kpop agency will help them when they fight this battle with HYBE and ADOR.

They can only release music if they're doing everything alone. Do you think they will have time to write lyrics, produce songs and MV's without any help? Or do you think they will spend a lot of money on that? They have to hire producers and directors to do that. And even if they can do that, HYBE will sabotage them!

  • I think it will end in some kind of settlement, both probably want to find a solution both can live with.

If NJ will settle with HYBE they will lose the public for sure, especially after all the public fight they did. I can't see them settle. I'm sure they would retire instead of working with HYBE again.

I think Hybe will drag it out as much as it can so Njs will lose itā€™s momentum and at least that way they will take revenge on them

    That's my guess, too.

    That's my guess, too.

They can settle by a profit sharing agreement but NJ goes independet or joins a MHJ company or what ever. I mean if NJ is not intresseting in the money and only "freedom" as they more or less claim it should be deal they also can live with and their fans can accept to.

Some people are so naivƩ to think they can run away and start releasing their own music right away ^^

You do know NewJeans music wasn't even produced by hybe, right?

They will keep their same producers just fine

And I don't see why they can't sign to a new or start their own agency when every other idol that's fought with their company has, including ones from the big 3. This ain't new, you act like they're the first lol

The fact that they still want to work with MHJ is a problem itself.

Also, I don't think HYBE would do such a thing. They would look weak, honestly.

HYBE didn't produce their songs, at least that's what you're saying. I don't know the details, so I will believe you, BUT I'm sure ADOR did it, right? Don't tell me ADOR doesn't own their songs, either.

How they can keep the same producers? Who's gonna pay them? NewJeans, when they have to use that money to pay lawyers for years? NJ is a massive group, but if you think producers will sacrifice their career for NJ, you're naive. We don't live in a world like this.

They can only start their own agency or sign with another one AFTER their contracts expire at HYBE, that's 5 year! If they release just a 10 second long music, HYBE and ADOR already win the fight!

NewJeans is actually the first group that want to leave a company when their contracts didn't even expire yet! Can you name any group that left their original company before their contract expired? I'm pretty sure that never happened. Especially the way NewJeans want to do it! If you want to leave, you can, but you have to pay penalty!

NewJeans say, it's a breach of trust, it's in their contracts, so they can leave without paying anything, HYBE/ADOR says otherwise. So, who's right? Doesn't any of them have actual proof? If not, there's no case!

If NJ doesn't have a solid evidence against HYBE and ADOR, they will lose, and the best thing that can happen to them is they have to work for HYBE again.

  • NewJeans music was not produced in-house, it was produced by Beasts and Natives Alike, a company headed by a former SM producer

Their main producers, 250 and FRANK, mainly produce for the khh/k-indie scene, not the kpop scene. Hybe can't do shit to them

And no, they are free to make music, start a company now. They terminated their contracts, it's up to Ador to stop their activities and that will take time for the courts to decide

This sounds weird, honestly. This basically means HYBE and ADOR doesn't own any NewJeans music unless they paid the producers.

On paper, we could say, they're free to do anything, but ADOR won't let them do that. I mean, just saw this tweet, kinda proves my point already. The girls saying they left the company, and they terminated their contracts, but HYBE/ADOR says otherwise. I just can't see a world where a big company like HYBE gives a contract to their artists that they can just simply terminate whenever they want.

This whole mess is kinda like sexual abuse cases. One person says the other did something to them, but the other says it never happened. IF they don't have REAL evidence, this is basically like a fight in kindergarten.
