HYBE was never without BTS. The members prepared solo albums (some members did 2!) and recorded singles years in advance so that there was almost no month without new music. Now the beginning of next year might be a bit sparse considering we had 4 solo albums and soon 5 singles this year alone, but with the way they've been talking about the 10 year anniversary of HYYH, they might have a re-recording or even old demos to share with us.
Either way, HYBE has still been banking on BTS as soloists and within the next 7 months, they will all be back. I don't care for HYBE one way or another but BTS is still a cornerstone of their idol operations, group or soloist.

Technically NewJeans too so 2 groups... Even though seventeen is huge, I don't consider them as iconic as representing the company bc their music isn't really known as the big3 groups were to result in them being considered big3.
It's just BTS and NewJeans, but even then, for Hybe to keep their status they need to be extra successful with more acts and have way more "national hits".

I'm not even sure if the BIG3 is that big anymore. It's more like a BIG 2.5 because YGE is becoming less popular by every day. They lost their biggest artists already, and if BP leave the dungeon next year, they will only have Babymon!
AKMU isn't really relying on YG, and their boy groups even exist? I hardly see them doing anything.
