QuoteDisplay MoreThe argument is often that SSE is a lesser company so why would BigHit/HYBE care enough to meddle? The answer is because Starship Entertainment was started by two ex-BigHit employees, who took a newly debuted BigHit artist with them when they left.
(..)
We all know Bang Sihyuk founded BigHit in 2005. Two employees from that time were a director by the name of Seo Hyunjoo, and a producer named Kim Shidae. Bang also had at least one trainee, Kim Hyungsoo, who was working to debut as a singer.
Now, at the very least, Hyunjoo had been working with Hyungsoo on his debut album, I am not sure exactly how closely either employee was involved.
Kim Hyungsoo made his debut as a singer on March 6th, 2007 with the album Left Heart, under the stage name K. Will.
Also in 2007, Seo Hyunjoo and Kim Shidae married after ten years of dating, leaving BigHit to start their own company.
Starship Entertainment was founded in January of 2008. At that same time, K. Will announced he was leaving BigHit Entertainment to join this new company.
You can't tell me that any CEO would be happy about that situation, especially not someone as prideful as BSH.
Obviously there are more reasons than just this as to why BH/HYBE would target SSE artists, but this is where it all began.
