its already 2024 & almost the end of 4th generation but BLACKPINK is still dominating

  • like this is a crazy behaviour… you have Lisa literally on VMAs & Victoria Secret and actively releasing music, Jennie as always topping Korean Chart with her English Song & promoting on Music Core & MCountdown, and now Rose is collaborating with Bruno Mars .. them girls are dominating the music industry for real ! im just so happy for them and also Blinks and it seems like this is the best decision they ever made, they all are thriving with their solo career !

Don’t get too excited yet, it all depends on this year’s results and if YG/Ted doesn’t screw them over again.

    One take One shot 🍻

  • Their solos are dominant.

Their group content has already peaked and the best years are behind them.

People should be cautious when attributing solo success to group success, ESPECIALLY in the West. Solo promo will almost always do better here.

It's time to leave the K-Pop label behind and BLACKPINK. They're in the next chapter of their careers as individual pop stars.

  • Everyone does what they want, you have no right to tell people what to do!!!!

Hey, I'm excited to see what legacies they carve out for themselves individually. It's unprecedented for K-Pop stars to cross over like that, but this isn't really K-Pop anymore, and I don't know why you all want to cling to the limits of that label.

Lisa, Jennie and maybe now Rose are global pop stars now.

It would be like accrediting all of Beyonce's success to Destiny's Child or Justin Timberlake's to Nsync.

  • The queastion is, is it good for kpop? it's a bit worrisome if groups like Blackpink and BTS still is so big even if they are old groups and barrely active.

I think it is actually. Perhaps not for those who enjoy the permanent re-shuffle and short lived-carreers of people that aren't left with much at the end of it, but for it will inspire longevity in other acts, legitimize the field as something more than a puppy-mill and probably raise the quality of the output if the early contacts made can become more enduring legacies.

Congrats to the girlies, they made it.

  • They are not NEWJEANS... their peak as a group is yet to come

  • I think their group content may have peaked in Korea, but certainly not on global scale. Their next group comeback is gonna be very huge globally.

  • 3rd gen was the introduction of KPOP for many international fans, and many of those people are more casual fans who only know of a handful of groups.

4th gen is far from over. we are seeing the same effect with 5th gen having a slow start and not being able to eclipse 4th gen groups as of now.

  • They are not NEWJEANS... their peak as a group is yet to come

    Careful. Your insecurity is showing.

I think their group content may have peaked in Korea, but certainly not on global scale. Their next group comeback is gonna be very huge globally.

If it was going to happen, it would have with Pink Venom and Shut Down.

    It didn't.

And the girls could feel that the time was perfect for prioritizing their solo careers; it was clearly a wise choice.

Again, it'd be like expecting Destiny's Child to outperform Beyonce. This is a tale as old as groups have been a thing in the music industry; it just hadn't really applied to K-Pop stars until now.

I know for a fact Lisa, for example, can be bigger as a solo pop star here than she ever would within the confines of BLACKPINK and K-Pop.
