Fearnots are expecting 300k sales on Monday due to shipping delays and delayed Hanteo reporting. They got 26k instead. Predicting it will be under 400k for the 1st week.

  • Thing is, I checked the numbers sold on ktown4u - its just over 10k, so even if they aren't being counted, either another big site isn't being counted or their fandom dropped in size.

  • I am confused why there is such a big drop off. It doesn't make sense for Coachella drama to make them have this big of a drop off.

Bc they’ve been exposed for more reasons than one Coachella/cult/japanese controversy etc. Also you when fail to establish an identity for yourselves both conceptually and musically - garnering loyal fans becomes ever so more challenging. After all, it's your core fans, not the casuals, who bring in the big bucks

  • I am confused why there is such a big drop off. It doesn't make sense for Coachella drama to make them have this big of a drop off.

chella drama + hybe/bang boycott from female gp in regard to their treatement of Ador i guess

bang's image is down the guts, it has bad reflections to his groups (specially those linked to the drama directly).

i think just like mhj had a positive influence on aespa success the opposite is happening with sserafim. and will probably happen to illit as well to a lesser extent.

  • I am confused why there is such a big drop off. It doesn't make sense for Coachella drama to make them have this big of a drop off.

I think its a mix of things but the main blame is with Hybe and Bang. The coachella and just general singing thing, their response to it, lots of claims of them trend hopping not forming their own sound (at least in TT's), fans buying less due to the recession, multi's being more selective were bad but if they'd stayed silent, stayed away for a while and came back with a more vocal focused song they would have been fine, problem is Hybe is Hybe.

Bang had multiple scandals this year, and since he is heavily involved with them, as more has come out about the management in charge of them, people have become more uncomfortable with their concept and supporting them. Especially since Hybe initially tried to use them as a weapon against MHJ over the source mess, then came the news of source stealing newjeans deal for LSF and then came the income statements where we saw how much more profitable newjeans was despite not going on a tour like LSF. All of this whilst they were getting lashed for their singing skills, responses to it and later source editing their live singing in a video. They got compared alot and the skill difference really hurt them. Whilst she is now disliked by korean feminists, the initial comparison would have been 'newjeans made by a woman for women vs LSF made by men for women but really being for men' and at that point, the difference in treatment by Hybe despite the income (including Bang ignoring newjeans, not remembering their faces compared to taking pics with LSF and his personal messages to MHJ) made things worse. Then MHJ said newjeans almost didn't debut because of Hybes interference and wanting sakura to debut ASAP (which only made the mess worse since her singing is the worst in the group currently and people hated her response the most) and the woman being mistreated by a male dominated workplace angle seemed to have made alot of korean women leave the fandom.

Then KOL got popular right when they were at their lowest and being hidden. They got praised for their skills and not only are KOL all of age but they have chosen to go with a more sexy concept (even giving ideas for some of the more racy scenes) which drew in western female fans and drew a starker comparison. Fact is they lost alot of their female korean and western fans, and apparently, this was pretty clear from their concerts.

    Honestly i don't know

The only reason i might see is that HYBE have a LOT !!!! of company stan

And i think some tokkis and fearnots

And with all these mess decided to take side for NJ or for Lsrf which maybe explain

  • This is odd and confusing! Maybe it’s too early still? I know all major gg have experienced a drop in sales by this is drastic and also the in house digital are quite bad :?: honestly I don’t think Crazy is a bad song and should be a top 10 song the very least especially with the promotions already underway :melon_think: I wonder what’s happening BTS ( behind the scenes)

  • it's a femlash that's what happened. against bang and his gang of incels.

also if you ask my opinion, hybe bot streams are probably inflating ssera ranking on melon. they should be at last 20/30 ranks lower minimum. actually in reality they are probably struggling to even enter the top 100. that's my personal intuition and analysis of the ssera situation.

  • 'and the woman being mistreated by a male dominated workplace angle seemed to have made alot of korean women leave the fandom.'

i agree with this part onwards .

I actually wonder how much the recent deepfake situ also hurt them. Thanks to this mess people think LSF = Bangs product and Bang = corrupt/sleazy male ceo who likely reminds them of their boss.

Women may not want to support MHJ anymore, but they want to support men like Bang even less so I think they also lost alot of passerby and people aren't even interested in seeing if their skills improve or hate watching anymore.

Here's the post clarified by Chatgpt.

"I think the lower album sales for Le Sserafim's latest comeback are due to a mix of factors, but the main blame lies with Hybe and Bang Si-hyuk. Their handling of the Coachella performance and the criticism of the group’s live singing, along with accusations of trend-hopping instead of developing a unique sound (at least in their title tracks), have hurt their reputation. Additionally, some fans are buying less due to the recession, and multi-fans are being more selective. If Hybe had stayed quiet, taken a break, and returned with a song that focused more on vocals, they might have been fine. But Hybe is Hybe.

Bang Si-hyuk faced multiple scandals this year, and because he is closely involved with Le Sserafim, more people have become uncomfortable with supporting them. The situation worsened when Hybe initially tried to use Le Sserafim against Min Hee-jin (MHJ) in the "Source Music" mess. Then, news emerged that Source Music had stolen NewJeans’ deal for Le Sserafim, followed by income statements showing that NewJeans were much more profitable, even without going on tour like Le Sserafim. During all this, Le Sserafim faced backlash for their singing skills, their responses to criticism, and Source Music’s editing of their live singing in videos.

Le Sserafim was constantly compared to NewJeans, and the difference in skill really hurt them. Initially, the comparison was framed as "NewJeans made by a woman for women vs. Le Sserafim made by men for women, but actually for men." This narrative, combined with how Hybe treated the two groups differently despite their respective incomes (e.g., Bang Si-hyuk ignoring NewJeans, not remembering their faces, but taking pictures with Le Sserafim and sending personal messages to MHJ), made things worse. When MHJ said NewJeans almost didn't debut because Hybe wanted Sakura to debut as soon as possible (and since her singing is currently the worst in the group, people disliked her response the most), it further fueled the perception that a woman was mistreated in a male-dominated workplace, causing many Korean women to leave the fandom.

Then, KOL (a different group) gained popularity right when Le Sserafim was at their lowest and not in the public eye. KOL got praised for their skills, and since all their members are adults, and they adopted a more mature, sexy concept (even contributing ideas for racier scenes), they attracted Western female fans and drew a sharp contrast with Le Sserafim. As a result, Le Sserafim lost a lot of their female fans, both Korean and Western."

what's your source of that in the first place. the sa accusations from b were proven false. factually and by the rh department.

but what i'm potentially seeing is a clear famlash against bang and his creepy make friends and hybe higher ups

The confusion over the SA allegations, Hybe reopening the case under the new CEO and the consistent posts by the supposed victims and them going to the police. I haven't seen anything since MHJ originally clarified it was bullying not SA, but since Hybe has been running with that headline and with the current climate, and her supposedly being abandoned by the feminists, I gather they are working on that angle and may have somewhat succeeded.

it's just propaganda and hopeful wishes from hybe side. gp doesn't read their articles anymore and i think they stopped believing hybe side long ago already. specially after she debunked these dispatch fakessages.

proof is if they damaging of her image had succeded, they wouldn't have been so vocally angry by her dismissal from ador as a ceo. gp was furious!

  • I think their album is not yet released in japan so the sales will probably jump in the next few days.

Maybe something like 400-500k for the whole week is possible. Would still be a flop though

  • Horrible track selection. International fans like the Kpop sound. Kpop differentiated itself by being different from Western pop, yet LSRFM kept moving towards the more generic western pop sound.

So they marketed themselves towards the western market, but in doing so, they pushed away the traditional Kpop loving international fans and the Korean public doesn't like this type of music.

  • Cause there still small tho, u mentioned fandom

I thought they'd be closer to other top 4th gen GGs' sales like they were before and sell more than less popular groups. It makes me think if everything going on hurt their fandom more than I expected.

But who knows, sales might still increase a lot, especially if Hanteo has been having issues.

  • this was expected from the start and is still suspicious af. selling the same amout as the first day sales if not more.

a fandom normally always aims for the biggest impact on the first day. as there is such competition about it as well. and hybe is sickly competitiv so those first day numbers are very likely the most organic assesement of their sales.

all the delayed arguments are exagerated crap, they brarely sold anything on kwantu anyway.

I think hanteo and other selling services need a reform. like limit a album sale to a single ip or smth and more strict authentification.

this inflation sh*t has to END.
