Babymonster. When i look to illit i only think in Newjeans.
Neither?
Ill-it
They were both... impressions.
Neither of them were GOOD impressions.
But neither of them overwhelmingly bad either. Both were just mediocre impressions that left me with no desire to listen to the songs again.
It's like giving me two slices of plain ass grocery store white bread and asking which one left the better impression.
Too early to tell. BM releases next Monday.
On the next 3 Friday's we will know if either will have a massive global breakout moment or not.
My gut at this time, is Illit isn't going to break out this release. They are strong, very strong in areas that are critical long term such as visuals and personality.
Right. I love Blackpink, and it's expected that BM has inspiration from them, but 1: I don't think they were given a good song, and 2: considering their ages it's hard for them to sell that type of image, they're not convincing (and why would a 15-year old be?).
ILLIT concept suits their ages, and I think the song can do well with the audience that's targeted.

I was actually intrigued and excited for what kind of sound and aesthetic BM would bring to the girl group soundscape, but what we got was more of the same from a group that can't pull it off half as well as the group they're clearly inspired by
Just my opinion, but I was very disappointed. And still am. I hate their musical direction already.
where's the option neither

Oh.
So Batter Up was the pre-debut pre-debut debut song. Thanks for the correction
Opinion aside, you could say this about any big company group outside of the groups that established said companies as K-Pop superpowers
Fair comment
Based on the songs released so far, Illit, but I'm interested in Babymons7er

I'm not sure they have a forte yet.
For me at least, I'm not sold on their girl crush concepts at all, and I'm not comparing them to present day BlackPink but debut BlackPink.
And then they released that ballad, and it was a thumbs down for me too.
That's already two songs. Ahyeon 's cover of Dangerous Woman blew me away, so I'm excited to see her added back to the mix, but for a song like Sheesh 🙄

If YG insist on trying to please different fans with ballads, soft concept etc it will backfire. What Babymons7er needs the most is a clear and concise image that makes them an interesting group and make their songs make sense with the image they're going for. The problem is, looks like YG still is living in the past, so if they dont bring something new to the table this group will fade. Monster high is an interesting concept and the aesthetic is very popular on pinterest, and considering how YG is the best at pulling eccentric fashion this would be very convenient to the name of the group.
