So, which version of 'I Need U' do you like better, the original by BTS or the remake by ENHYPEN?

They were smart to adapt the song to Enhypen by making it more vibey, less explosive, and less rap heavy. BTS songs tend to feel very emotional because the members have such different voices and the three rappers are also very different in their flows. They cut out a whole 30 seconds from the song that includes bars and some instrumental breakdowns. This feels like a flirty message while the original felt like Namjoon was begging outside your window with a boombox at dawn in the rain.

I think it works for them and it's cute. I noticed RM got a production credit along with a all the original songwriters.

I Need you has BTS marks and prints all over it. It has a monumental history for the boys. It's loaded with memories. It's beautiful and it's nostalgic. No one can beat the original.

Having said that, however, I think Enhypen interpreted it in their own good way. It was done with care and respect. Kudos to them!

but enhypen did really well. they don’t showcase much of their vocal talent in their other songs. a comeback with a similar sound to this would work wonders for them in Korea. polaroid love was a mini hit but belift never capitalized on its success

obviously bts's version, but enhypen did really well with their cover. the og is much more angsty and emotional while enhypen's cover is vibey and flirty, something they pulled off really well

i think the remake sounds kinda dumb. it sounds like they just put a bunch of random music instrument mixes over it i don't know i don't think it sounds very good.

the original just has so much feeling, this version just completely stripped that from it.

also is it just me or do their voices sound sooo autotuned, i hate that kind of sound. bts sounds very raw in i need u.

Finally had a chance to listen properly. The vocals are excellent but the beat isn't really doing it for me. It doesn't match the intensity of the lyrics.

Keep in mind that this is BTS in their 3rd year and they already sang it with so much emotion and personality.

We don't get groups like that anymore in this generation...

BTS version, the song had emotions all over it, it has pull and angst!

Anyway, as a BTS fan, I'll take it as a compliment if someone cover their songs... And Enhypen are such BTS fanboys so there! 🥰

It actually wasn't that bad but it's too far from the original. My take away is that, it's probably how the group wants to add their own flavor to the music or that I'm just too biased to recognize another version of I Need You.

This is how BTS do justice to a song they choose to re-make.

Listening to BTS voices from 10 years ago even makes it more memorable and nostalgic.

Enhypen's version of I Need You is, at this point, still being judged, whether it does justice to its original version.

Just serve us with good music Hybe, then everything will fall into place.

No offense to Enhyphen ( I listen to some of their songs okie? ) but this tactic is such a turn off.
