Ive surely been quite severely overworked by Starship

  • They debuted just 2 years ago, only a few months earlier than Lsf, Nmixx, and Newjeans yet,

    Ive has:

    - 5 Korean albums

    - 1 Japanese album

    - 1 Japanese single

    Total: 7 released

    Le Sserafim has:

    - 3 Korean albums

    - 2 Japanese singles

    Total: 5 Released

    Nmixx has:

    - 4 Korean albums

    Total: 4 released

    Newjeans has:

    - 3 Korean albums

    Total: 3 released

Aespa, who debuted in 2020, has:

    - 4 Korean albums

    Total: 4 released

Itzy, who debuted in 2019, has:

    - 8 Korean albums

    - 2 Japanese albums

    - 2 Japanese singles

    Total: 12 released

Gidle, who debuted in 2018, has

    - 9 Korean album

    - 2 Japanese album

    Total: 11 released

Ive has already released half of what Itzy and Gidle released, even though both of them debuted almost 5 and 6 years ago.

Not to mention, they're one of the busiest groups this year. It's quite sad; they're busy with both group and individual schedules, especially for Wonyoung and Yujin. This workload is almost on par with Twice's releases in the first two years of their careers: six Korean albums, one Japanese album, and one single. We all know that Twice had one of the craziest and busiest schedules among girl groups before. Now in 4th gen gg, it's Ive.

  • Starship should work them less

Because people are now using their hardwork as excuses as to why they have "records" as they have more releases more albums more songs more activity and all these achievements are simply because they work hard and release more content

Imaging being the top 4th gen seller but it's because you are just releasing more albums and working harder

    So yeah they should rest

  • aespa debuted in november 2020 tho!

STAYC debuted in nov 2020 as well

and they have 10 total releases so far

  • It just makes me wonder if Wonyoung and Yujin ever take a long rest after IZONE disbanded. IZONE had crazy schedules too, so Mnet could milk them to the fullest. Both of them started doing their individual schedules afterward, with MCing and variety show. Only 8 months later, IVE debuted so they must going through a lot of debut preparation behind the scene. Since then, they've had back-to-back comebacks, tours, filmed commercials, done photoshoots, filming fan contents, cb preparation and who knows what else.

  • Wasn't this the exact same words that 3rd gen stans used to use against Twice when they were on top ?

  • to be fair they debuted before some groups you mentioned I think aespa is the only groups that debuted in 2020 well if you don't include G idle and Itzy that debuted a lot earlier and new jeans technically has 4 if I'm not wrong. ( unless you don't include single albums) and Ive has like 3 single albums only one studio album and a mini album I don't think is too much personally.

  • It’s comical to see so many people stating that IVE is overworked.

Do you honestly think the members have zero say in their schedule? I can assure you that Wonyoung and Yujin do. They are Starship - you don’t keep them happy the group is going to suffer.

What so many of you don’t get is that idols want to be challenged. It’s in their nature to work extremely hard and be the best. Just like an athlete does. And they want to make significant $$$.

Why do you think idols go through such vigorous training for years? Companies are preparing them for what they are doing now. It’s survival of the fittest.

Only in the K-pop world do I hear fans cry about this. I assume it’s because so many of you are young and don’t have full time jobs where you have to sometimes work 60 hours per week (I’m in senior management and it’s the norm for wanting to be great at what I do and being successful).

  • You gotta strike while the iron is hot. It's natural to keep working when you're still in demand because eventually it's gonna peak and the next hot trendy thing will come and take its place.

I remember reading somewhere before where Twice fans were saying they were overworked meanwhile Nayeon said on bbl or somewhere that they had no schedules and were just sitting around at home. And Karina also said on Lee Youngji's show that idols who say they have no time to date are full of shit.

People always complain about everything but these people are busy to provide content for their fans. Without them being busy, you wouldn't see them in front of you 24/7 like other groups that are in long hiatuses or kept in the dungeon.

To be honest, these groups are only busy for the first 3-4 years, and slowly it will stabilise. They will slowly break into sub-units or solo schedules and into other things. These first years are often crucial and of course it will be the busiest times of their careers, but it's like an investment into building their brand names. Once their position is secured, it will be easy sailing for their careers.
