    I doubt that the Japanese anime "The Apothecary Diaries" which is set in a fictional Imperial Ming China will be better than the Japanese anime "Kingdom" which is set in Ancient Qin China during the Warring States of Ancient China but we will see :

    I'll never get over how weird it is watching an anime that takes place outside of Japan and everyone is speaking Japanese. Especially a show like Kingdom. Ancient China but everyone speaks Japanese lol


    I enjoy this manga (reading it to practice my Japanese). One of the recent shoujo manga that is actually interesting and not fully of silly, typical Shoujo stereotypes and tropes. The manga is built a ka case by case and the main plot is a bit slow but this is a reminder for me to catch up re the Jpn manga. Thanks for the heads up, OP.


    Actually, many Japanese mangas are inspired my Chinese history/culture. Another one that I liked was: The Story of Saiunkoku (彩雲国物語, Saiunkoku Monogatari, literally "Tale of the Kingdom of Colored Clouds") is a series of Japanese light novels and manga written by Sai Yukino and illustrated by Kairi Yura set in fictional ancient China. beautiful art but the plot is slow lol.
