Huh Yunjin already writes more good songs than Blackpink. Why?

  • And when Hybe molde her to fit all of Korean beauty standards even more and give her benefits actual mistreated female idols never had like solo deals, music show wins, expensive mvs ect

If she wanted to be this woke outspoken artist she would have no go to/or accept Hybe in the first place

This is a fair point, but if she had done exactly that, she might've been one more nameless singer posting songs on YouTube or SoundCloud unless she really wanted to take it further. If memory serves, she had pretty much gave up the idol thing until they ended up calling her after she went back to America. The only reason why people tune into it is because she's signed to one of the biggest record labels in Korea.

Obviously this post is bait because who's seriously thinking that Yunjin, a brand new idol in a brand new group that hasn't even hit a year old yet, is doing "more" than the clearly legendary and influential group Blackpink? Especially when there's a good chance that Yunjin herself wouldn't dare think something like that, even in a room by herself. Even someone like Soyeon, who wears many hats when it comes to G-Idle, still has to answer to Cube at the end of the day. Sometimes change happens internally.

But opinions like OP only serve to set Yunjin up because of course people are going to be skeptical. It's one thing to say it, another thing to actually be able to do it, and it also depends on what kind of change she's wanting to implement... Which will obviously take time.

  • OP - one can appreciate an idol without attacking fellow groups/artists you know but then again negativity drives more traffic than positivity...

  • I really don't know why people want blackpink to write their own songs. They have no talent in song writing or producing. Jennie's original song is terrible. the raps they write suck. They have no talent what so ever when it comes to creating actual good music. And neither does teddy. So it's a lose lose situation. Yunjin's music is basic and really nothing to scream about, it's boring pop music, maybe she has about 1 grain of talent more than blackpink. That's about it. It's okay to not have talent in producing/lyric writing if you can dance and sing.

  • What makes you thing they don’t? Jennie has talked about writing lyrics and jisoo has her own diary and she has been credited in two songs and pretty sure rose writes and makes music she hinted it . It’s not like the members don’t have writing credits either . And of course that Annoying user in every thread about bp when this thread was a bait thread

Not every song idols write make it to their albums if anything this probably why yunyin have to upload her music on YouTube this is the only way

  • maybe she’s just talented like soyeon? how many female idols actually produced, write and compose their own solo songs?

What makes you think bp don’t write? They literally have some writing credits this is a bad take especially when the girls themselves have hinted they had Yg doesn’t give as much freedom in that area. Mind you it took years for yg to accept cl demos

  • We should appreciate but do not shade!!! On another note, if fans would appreciate more of the output of idols then they would have more chances to fight for their own artistry. So I do think fans can be blamed for being more focused on products and perfection then on art.

But Yunjin is very outspoken though, she openly posts LGBT support message on Twitter while Blackpink member even avoids a LGBT support question. It’s just weird not seeing Blackpink members voicing support for social movements/human rights.

  • I know people like to give HYBE/Source a lot of sh*t but you gotta give them at least some credit for allowing a rookie idol like Yunjin to be able to artistically express herself openly like this. I don't doubt that the idols you mentioned probably have a backlog of self-written songs that never see the light of day. But that's the problem though: Companies won't let them see the light of day for whatever reason. Whether it's because they think they might hurt their "brand" or because they just don't see their idols as artists so they won't bother with the effort.

Maybe the industry does need to change a bit so that idols can overcome the image of being seen as merely living "dolls" dancing to the whims of their companies and more as artists and entertainers with at least some agency and control over themselves.

  • I mean Op could have compared her with the industry in general then there would have been a discussion but they decided to throw BP down.

Lets spin this around, its fair to assume her teammates get the same opportunities as her rather than comparing with other groups.

So why dont other members do the same?

Answer is simple, not everyone as aspiration to be a song writer. Some idols just love singing or dancing or any other aspects of their job and work toward excelling in that area.

Also inb4 someone tries to spin this on my fav, they had writing credits on their debut album.
