JYP is probably the most financially solid company, and his only child is too young to be considered for a succession.

I don't think it will be an issue till JYP turns 80, since given the way he acts now, he will still be performing at the age of 70.

basically what elon did, kaoko would have to look @ stock numbers, and offer @ current price or maybe even about, but put in some sort of offer, saying we will buy 40% of all jype stock @ this price, then shareholders could agree to that price and sell until enough sell and they get the # they want

Foreign ownership is being highlighted because foreign ownership suddenly rose by 3.8% within the last month, i.e. some foreign investors suddenly bought a lot of jyp shares

It is speculated that kakao might be planning to merge with or acquire jyp because kakao ent got a lot of investment from Saudi investment fund a month back for their ipo

good explanation but I wonder if companies don't want to sell their shares can they refuse? since their stocks are there in the market ? is there any way they can prevent that? also can hybe be also vulnerable from getting acquired by a big corporation in the future?

yes they can refuse any price but if that price is high enough it becomes very difficult to refuse

Remember that many shareholders are doing so to enrich themselves and don’t necessarily care who owns the company so long as it is maximises its profits
