    YES THEY ARE!

This is true girl crush, not some fancy/expensive and unrelatable type of girlcrush like Blackpink or some experimental female NCT sub-unit like Aespa.

This is real girl crush, with incredible talent in all aspects: vocals, rap, dancing!

They are all beautiful but not styled to fit conventional beauty standards.

    This is true girl crush.

They are like gidle if it was full of Soyeon’s, Yuqi and Minnie’s only.

They are the best girl crush since 2ne1, for the girls only period.

    :pepe-pray:

  • Honestly even know they aren't as successful, CLC slayed girl crush.

  • whatever they are, i really like them. they are so different and refreshing but not in a cringe way like a lot of the other "international girl group" attempts

JPN CEO, company is subsidiary in Korea. Music producer is Korean.

They label themselves as both Kpop and Jpop but also neither.

That's why they sing in English, because they want to bridge the gap and have English speaking fans as well.

But their songs are so good. That PD is good at what he's doing and the girls are very talented.

yup... it's refreshing and quite possibly the next step towards solidifying the kpop genre internationally. i think they are doing it the right way.

  • Idk if I can understand kpop it feels a lot more cringe so I can’t get into English releases. A lot of the stuff XG is doing borderlines on appropriation and it’s like they’re playing at being something they’re not.

Anyway that’s just me I’m sure most people don’t care and I’m sure they’re very talented.

I hate that word so much… appropriation. Too much bs sensitivity over nothing lately. Just because they are hiphop thats appropriation??? And even if so, who cares… I guess I’m old school but I really find nothing wrong when people say appropriation.

There is no appropriation going on

It’s not just hip hop it’s also using AAVE. Kpop having Korean rap and singing their own rap is different(there’s AAVE there too and it gets called out but let’s park it for now). They’re singing deliberately using language terminology they would have never been exposed to or is natural for them so it feels really odd. It’s ok if you don’t believe appropriation is big deal that’s your prerogative. But you should at least be able to admit that these girls do not speak or interact in real life using the slang and words they use in their songs. That’s why for me it feels a bit cringe.

Like even if you don’t care about appropriation, If some kpop or jpop or whatever group suddenly sang a English language country song but also in a country accent wouldn’t you all find it weird and cringe?

honestly i wouldn't... there's plenty of white, black, and other foreigners, singing and covering kpop songs, or trying to/wanting to be kpop singers. isn't it basically the samething? i find nothing wrong with it... by imitating or trying/working at it, i think it's actually really impressive and i respect it.

btw... it's not that i don't care about appropriation... it's more along the lines of that i think appropriation is a non-existent issue, made solely to spark hate and more division for absolutely no reason at all.

  • lol look, Mascara wasnt bad and Shooting Star is a really solid bop, probably the best song of January along with <X OMG <X . But they dont a candle to BP or 2NE1 let's be real here lol. Teddy's discography is unmatched by any contemporary producer whether Kpop or local. You have to go all the way back to the 80s to find a better producer or songwriter.

I don’t believe that. People have just normalized randomly adding aave to songs. If it was any other accent or language people would indeed find it weird.

i don't know... i'm so fucking lost... i find almost nothing offensive, and i dealt with the worst types of racism growing up, but that's the point... i've grown up with it and taken it and don't care. i will never be weak and i hope you all won't be as well.

To be honest you misunderstood me I don’t think appropriation is the greatest affront to humanity. Mostly it just translates to cringe. People who are not exposed to a certain language for example me with Korean, if ppl do cringe shit with Korean lyrics I won’t know so I don’t mind. Since this is fully in English and they’re using words I know for a fact they have no idea what it means or will they ever use those words in regular conversation I find it cringe lol.

No more weirder or cringey then white or black or even some Asians singing kpop songs with the Korean lyrics right? For those that don’t speak the language anyway.

Teddy is straight up doing war crimes with his shitty songs like pink venom and hylt lmao…I’m shook that people actually like his shitty songs.

Shooting Star is better than most BP songs released since AIIYL, with shut down being an exception because it’s good.
