anyone watched wakanda forever?

It was incredible! People are complaining that it's a full Black female cast but I don't care. It really lives up to the expectation of the first movie and I love how they honor Chadwick Boseman throughout the movie. It was very sweet and emotional
Also Shuri is BADASS

It was okay. I think because everyone loved Chadwick so much and they wanted to honor him, the whole thing kind of felt like a 2 hr memorial/funeral. It was really somber the whole way throughout without much levity.

it's not bad but for an MCU movie about Black Panther we barely see the Black Panther in action lol

Below is a spoiler that everyone probably knows by now even if you haven't seen the movie. But still, open at your own cost.
STILL EXTREME SPOILERS
Yeah, but it was because for the majority of the movie, Wakanda was still grieving the loss of their king and Ramonda (the mother) was reinstated as Queen because before T'Challa became king, she was queen after T'Chaka (the father) was murdered. And then after Ramonda died, Shuri was next in line for the throne and the mantel of the Black Panther. But she had no desire, since the beginning, to do either. I think she thought that T'Challa would be king for way longer. And I was reading she was a mere 16 in the first movie meaning she was only 18. For starters, she lost her whole family. Father died a long time ago, brother is dead to honor the actor's passing, mother recently just was murdered, evil cousin committed suicide...she's been through a lot and she's so young.
So I think we all know why it took her forever to accept the Black Panther. She lost everything and everyone she loved. Fortunately, T'Challa had a son but he's too young too do anything and he's being kept and Haiti for the time being. But she was so young at the same time and thrown into a destiny she didn't want for herself. But she knew, to honor her family and protect her home, she had to have her destiny rewritten. One of the reasons why Shuri is one of the best and most respectable Disney Princesses, if not the.

They had a baby and after that, she went to Haiti. So apparently, she's been there a few years. The son is said to be 6 or 7 years old which means Black Panther 2 must be that much time after Black Panther 1 which makes Shuri roughly 22-23 in the second movie. Still pretty young.
For reference, Black Panther 1 was released in 2018 and I don't think Nakia (T'Challa's partner) was present in the Infinity War Saga.

I know how it happened but it's still whack since the obvious question is why didn't he just announce his son to the "council" of elders and whatnot...wakandians seem to be fairly family oriented people
but then again it would seem like the next generation of superheroes are pretty much present in all of the MCU - she-hulk + thor

Well...I've read a book with a concept like this (it wasn't the whole story but it was an important part) and basically thei adoptive fairy brother was next in line for the crown but he was only like 6 or 7. (the majorit of the royal family was killed by a jealous son who wanted to king. So after like 5 of them were killed, him [who was incarcerated], his younger brother and the boy they just found out has royal blood) They decide to take him to him to the human world so that he can live with one of his step sisters and her girlfriend. So that he can grow up away from the royal council and the dealings of the court.
You know that if these young boys would've stayed, they'd grow up in danger and have to learn everything there is to know about being king. There wouldn't be anytime for these boys to be boys. They would be treated as "the throne's heir" for the rest of their lives and nothing more, nothing less.

that's the cost of being "king" - I only have to look at actual chinese history to know all about preping the next generation for the throne and all that...
but then again maybe it's what t'challa wanted to give his son a few years before re-intergrating him back into wakadian society

I just saw it recently and it was better than I expected it to be w/o CB. Minor issues aside (could have tighten the story more and not sure re the Riri character - she was so under developed), it was one of the better Marvel films recently but I agree that it is different than most Marvel films. I loved the female cast (Angela, Letitia, and Danai were all great) and Namor was a good character. I didn’t like the recent Dr Strange or Thor films either. Spider-Man No Way Home was great though.

Very true...if I was born into a royal family where I don't have first rights to the throne for whatever reason (whether it be that I was born second or I was female and had a male brother because they were pretty sexist at this time and the male heirs would often surpass female heirs, no matter their birth order), I would be glad because it would mean that I'm not tied to expectations of having to rule a whole kingdom. Of course, I'd be their backup if anything were to happen to the first heir but I'd rather have a life with more freedom than have my destiny chosen for me.
Yep, exactly. Because he grew up always having to be prepared for kinghood. He didn't want his son to have to go through that and give him the chance to be a child and come back when he was ready.

but if you were born female in a royal household then it would be expected of you to marry to form alliances - not such a welcoming proposition for the females of those kingdoms!!!
