2018 BTS remain Untouchable

    Just realized this while looking at Kpop stats


    BTS 2018 stats:

    -2 Million album sales (Mots Answer)

    -Perfect All Kill on Korean Chart (Fake Love)

    -Top 10 on BB Hot 100 (Fake Love)

    -Artist of the Year Daesang

    -Album of the Year Daesang

    -Song of the Year Daesang (Fake Love at KMA)


    All happened in the same year. Till this day, no other kpop act ever come close to achieve all of this. Not even their closest competitor (whoever that may be).

    2020-2022 BTS is even bigger though? But maybe you mean as like a breakthrough year, in which case, yes — in which case the 2 Billboard #1s are important to note. A lot of firsts happened that year.

    Fake love was song of the year? Welp it is sure did not age that well

    yep, and while 2020-2022 BTS are even bigger than that, 2018 was truly an iconic year for them

    also if you mean no other group has done that? hell yes, all the other top kpop groups only succeed in achieving one or 2 of that list & that's it. but maybe with 4th gen gg doing so well, maybe one of them will succeed in getting more than 2 of those things

    I'd even say most have yet to achieve what BTS did in 2017.

    THey charted two songs that year on the hot 100 including one for 10 weeks (something no other kpop act has done yet other than BTS and PSY)
    no other kpop acts album has lasted on the BB200 as long as LY: Her did either (over 40 weeks).

    a few more things including the daesangs - MAMA Artist, MMA Song, GDA Album.

    LY HER was also the first million seller on gaon in over a decade.

    not to mention DNA was also a massive hit alongside Spring Day + LY HERs bsides also did insanely well on k-charts (especially Go Go)

    + of course the legendary - Top Social Artist award

    True, other artist's fans claim that their faves is BTS rival or the 'next BTS' when in reality their faves can't even reach 2018 BTS, let alone 2019-now BTS.

    Shouldn't it be 2020? Their biggest year is definitely 2020.

    I appreciate the post OP, but let's be real BTS has achieved more then the collective of the whole industry, from beginning to now. So these posts are redundant. BTS are the biggest musical phenomenon to come out of that little country, and lumping any other "act" from that country/genre is an insult to BTS and anyone's intellect.
