Seeing how girl groups are able to sell 1m+ albums, its not impossible..but bg truly have very loyal fans. Even boy groups with mid album sales are still able to tour relatively well..

Part of the thing (at least for the newer groups coming on to the scene) is lack of discography I'd imagine. As they build themselves up, touring will naturally come closer.

The secret of being a touring force is not having a big fandom, but having a dedicateď big fandom. It doesn't say much If you sell +700k/+1M, but you aren't the main priority of the majority of your fans, because they have an other ult for who they would be more likely to spend more money with and actually attending their concerts.

From active groups, only Twice and Blackpink seem to have a big fandom with this level of dedication who I see being comparable to bgs, but things can always change. I don't doubt it.

(Note: I am speaking of them prior to the ceo disaster...) Yeah Omega X for instance debuted only last year, but they were consistently releasing mainly albums/mini albums. So by the time they were touring, they were able to pull from a good selection for a setlist. Meanwhile, some girl groups are just dropping singles, so I feel like things are moving a bit slower because of that.

Though, you do have other girl groups doing mini albums, so if they keep up a similar work load, perhaps they can get to the tour point faster. If their company wants to that is.

I noticed that girl group stans move from one girl group to another pretty quickly, while for group fandom it feels almost illegal to be multi stan

Yeah but boy group fandoms are completely different, they don't really switch to see who is to their liking, plus popular boy groups are almost immediately ready to do tours while I can't say the same for popular girl groups as they have too many casual listeners.

Even nugu ggs are touring now. PIXY and 3YE performed near me not long ago. Sure, the venues are small and the dates are few, but it's better than nothing.

Conceivably, yes. I think the challenge will be sustaining the fandom in the long term. Many gg stans seem to hop between groups more based on who’s put something out more recently and who’s hot, just based on the shifting loyalties I see on here and Twt. While that’s changing, and certainly Onces and Blinks are showing more of that long-term fandom, mid-tier bg still often have more loyal fanbases than mid-tier gg. It’s one thing to stream an album and another thing to buy an $80+ concert ticket, particularly when the group is no longer the hot group. Monsta X, an 8 year old mid tier group, could still sell out a 6k show in NYC and three days of 6.5k shows in Seoul. I just don’t see that type of thing for gg at this point.

This is kinda what i'm thinking as well.

I dont see very many BG stans who would actually pay $$$ for concert tix for someone other than their faves. It seems like BG stans are fiercely loyal to one group. I dont see many fans who ult both EXO and NCT, or SKZ and Got7, or Bigbang and BTS. The only exception seems to be TXT fans and Enhypen fans, who all seem to stan BTS as well...is there a single MOA or Engene that doesn't like BTS?

On the GG side you have fans like me who love Twice and BP, fans who stan both Aespa and RV, Twice and Itzy, Lesserafim and Newjeans. Wizones who stan Izone, Ive and LSRFM.

Tickets are expensive, in this economy concerts are luxury I fear.

I think at the beginning txt had many fans who are armys first and then MOAs, but now situation is completely different and I even see fanwars between all 3 fandoms

Not every casual listener will turn into dedicated fan and that's why girl groups tour less, but have other gigs.

Nope. BG and GG stans move in different ways and it feels like the newer girl groups rely more on cfans so I don't think their sales are necessarily indicative of worldwide touring potential. Unless China opens its doors.

Absolutely. The only reason BGs can tour like that is because of fandoms .

Girl groups are gaining more recognition and selling more albums at higher levels, which means they're growing fandoms at higher levels. If you'll buy an album, you'll buy a ticket like JYP said

of course they can in either smaller venues or less places (aka not a world tour maybe just CJK or asian tour)

Some of them will do middle size tours around the world so if they are not too greedy not impossible.

Although they will always live under the shadow of the person on the left of my post who did have the big concert in the Main Stadium.

i think top ggs from 4th gen will definitely be able to tour in few years just like their bg counterpart
