Produce privilege shouldn't even be call as a privilege.

People talk about produce privilege when it used to be called produce curse before ive existed explain why produce privilege shouldn't even be call as a privilege.

All idols who came from Produce work hard to gain their popularity through promoting in a temporary group. Them, bringing those popularity that they earn through hard work to a new group shouldn't be called as a privilege.

GP and casual listener waiting and excited for groups coming from big 4 to debut is the real definition of privilege.

You need more proof to convince them, if you just mention Wonyoung then you proof them right. Try Daniel, Chungha, Sejeong, Somi, Yena, Eunbi, Yuri, Chaeyeon, Sakura, Yujin or Chaewon.

I don't know why people only use Wonyoung to beat this allegation. Wonyoung has pretty privilege, not produce privilage (I think, don't hate me please)

Are you dense? Nothing you said is mutually exclusive with Ive having Produce privilege. They are doing as well as they are because of Wonyoung and Yujin's previous success and exposure with Izone. If they were fresh idols with no recognition, Starship would have WJSN v2. Same deal with LeSserafim. You think a fresh group without Sakura and Chaewon would have survived a scandal like Garam's?

The whole point of people disagreeing with OP is that Produce privilege is comparable to Big 4 privilege. Which it is. Two years of exposure as one of the top girl groups.

Yuri, Yena, Eunbi are all successful soloists. Hitomi went from a nobody to a core member of AKB48. You think they get the success they had without Produce?

Produce hype > Big 4 hype these days, look at NMIXX and the boy groups

But it is. They are coming in with a bigger advantage than a nugu like Lapillus or Classy where people know about them. People talk about how they're excited and are going to follow the person and then do. That's privilege. People act like there's only one type of privilege: big 4, when there are many types in the industry.

IOI and Wanna One were more successful but Iz*One had the benefits of having the longest contract times which in turn built a big fandom. They also collaborated with AKB48 which gained their fans on the Japanese side and also got a bigger fandom that way.

But produce privilege is real. If any other group were found to be rigged, they would have been boycotted and blacklisted from the industry. Yet almost all of the ex-IZ*ONE members are heavily promoted, especially Wonyoung and Yujin (who clearly wasn't "rank 5" since they revealed the rigging scandal). Their agency (starship) is the worst though, and is by far the most corrupt because they admitted to bribing produce 48 to get the girls noticed. What an insult to WY and YJ to think that they couldn't have made it into the group without their company bribing mnet executives.

everyone was talking about IVE's debut. their threads got the most engagement on reddit since aespa. Here too, so many posts. Of course that's because people wanted to see Wonyoung and Yujin's new group. Don't kid yourself, they didn't just magically blow up out of nowhere.

don't dives always brag that Wonyoung is the 4th gen it girl since 2 years? but suddenly that has no impact on the popularity of her group? lol
